FWIW I totally abandoned what 'swing' felt like with 2019 and have a completely different method for 2K21 - I am finding some success. Have to still work on irons - but I'll get there. For drive - I pull the stick back as slow as I can - then strong DS - get perfect more times than F or VF or S or VS.. Is my score reflective of that - NO - why? - I can't putt worth a damn at times - working on that too... Are too many people clinging to what they knew in the previous iteration of the game? Maybe? All I have to say is don't keep doing the same thing expecting a different result. You want change - make a change - step outside the box and try totally different methods. Maybe I'm full of Shite - that could be - but the whole 'Oh us Poor XBox players' is getting quite tiring.. I fly my #TeamXBOX badge with pride - and I enjoy the frustrating challenge we call video golf For me it's all new since I didn't play the previous versions of the game, but it has been a learning process too:
At the begining I was pulling the stick all the way back for all my shots, then I switched to slowly pulling it back until the putter moved and then push it forward as soon as I felt the control vibration, and it helped a lot! -Until they changed the putting movement and started leaving putts short- but I managed to addapt to the change, keeping the same motion of the stick, just waiting a bit longer to feel the vibration.
For the other shots I started doing the same thing: pulling slowly back, not fully, and then at the top of the backswing pushing forward, but releasing my finger off the stick, like slaping it (rather than pushing it)... It has helped me hit more perfects and grey slows which don't affect the result as much as red slows and red fasts.
I haven't figured it all yet of course, but 95% of the times as soon as I finish the movement I know already if it's going to be red fast, near perfect/perfect or red slow. I know with master settings is really hard to be consistent, but the stick is very sensitive to slight speed changes, also I think the backswing speed also affects the tempo, not just the downswing (I might be wrong on this one, but it's just what i feel).
I understand the frustration, because it happens to me sometimes: I just start playing faster to finish my round and that's not fun... But the game is so good I always want to come back and get better and better each time I play.

Well, at least they ARE patching.. we had 2 or 3 early on in 2019 then crickets for 2 years... I wonder what 'other minor issues' means.. Is it patching? I can't get on until later tonight so hoping some of you can see what if anything is fixed. Adding new goofy hats and putters is adding new items/features to the game, that's not patching. Well, in my pea brain it isn't. minor issues = PS4 swing improved ;-)

I only asked a simple yes or no would have sufficed To be fair Les, it's all played out of the same society so unless they make a second society your request is impossible.

Is masters hard - yes - so.... Not having fun - find somewhere to have fun with whatever that setting is. Many people complaining that they're not having fun and yet, still shooting double digit under par.. So what is actually fun ? Do we have to shoot -15 per round to enjoy the game? Score is irrelevant IMO Sure hope the societies I am in don't change. I'm still doing tgctours - challenge accepted Sounds like enough people are going to bail - maybe I just need to go back to playing solo rounds for ranger duties and forget societies all together.. Que the box of kleenex... The last couple of days, I have tried to do the "right" perfect swing and can't, gonna play my way and have fun. Sing it everyone.....

Score is irrelevant IMO All I have to say is don't keep doing the same thing expecting a different result. You want change - make a change - step outside the box and try totally different methods. You perfectly answered your own question here. Score is absolutely irrelevant. I can shoot double digits under par with masters and still not have fun because when I do that, it almost all feels like luck. I can shoot even par and have more fun if it actually feels like I have control over my shots. Fun, to me anyways, is being able to look at my approach shot, check the lie grid, check the wind, pick a spot on the green based on the firmness/speed, rollout/loft of your club and the slopes of the green and then being able to hit that spot(or relatively close) more times than not. Problem is, the vast majority of the time I miss that spot either way left or way right depending on what tempo I got. So then it's the same splash shot around the green to a tap in par over and over and over. That to me is not fun. Maybe 1-2 shots went where I wanted for birdies, maybe a chip in or lucky splash in. Did I end with a decent score under par? Sure. Was it fun? No, not really, I completely missed where I aimed on 90% of my shots. On the 2nd point, I've tried so many different things trying to get a more consistent tempo. I've tried left stick, right stick, moving my thumb to different positions, using my index finger to swing. Want to hear the craziest one I tried? Switched to left stick(I normally use right), turned my controller upside down and tried swinging in reverse, so up for the backswing and down for the downswing. Probably not shocking it didn't work too well lol. I've been lvl 100 for weeks and my tempo is no better now than it was on day 1. Is it just me? Maybe, probably. Others on xbox seem to have some success with tempo so I know it's possible, I just haven't found the secret formula for it. I've always been in favor of using Masters and the challenge, but the more I've played, the more I've come to realize Pro is so much more enjoyable to play. And at the end of the day, this is a video game, I play it to have fun and not be infuriated round after round lol. I'm still playing these societies, I've just stopped putting a lot of effort in to them.

Chief Banks respect for trying to get in contact with HB/2K and receiving the most feedback I've ever seen... the response though.... a punch in the face, kick in the nuts or whatever nasty way you wanna look at it. Sad. They are literally just pawning it off to another blackhole. Maybe one day they will care more about the people that play the game (especially y'all that have been playing since 2005!!!!) consistently than clowns interested in putting a pumpkin head on there golfer.

Interesting comment from the patch thread: Friend who has played with red fasts is reporting that the penalties associated which might have been a bend to the left 25 yards is now seemingly random. He hit some red fasts that went straight right, for no apparent reason.
Anyone else seeing this?tgctours.proboards.com/thread/25495/patch-1-05?page=2&scrollTo=594692Anyone experience this yet?

IMO I've always wanted a pumpkin hat in real life. At my pay rate it's out of my range. At least now I can get one in game as long as the coin price is feasible.

Same but if it isn't the exact same miss it will hinder those playing for fast intentionally. For anyone playing for a perfect, I dont think it really matters which direction or severity the miss is. Time will tell, thats the only person I've seen saying anything about it and more than likely its just a one off and there is no change.

I just hate to see great players leave - glad you're sticking around for the societies - I often use your scores as a benchmark, along with others as a place I'd like to be - then putting happens and it gets all pissed away - AND I consider myself pretty good with putting - but we all have 'those' days.. Good luck to you sir - tear up the Beer League and have a cold one for me!
