Hey guys, just thought I’d share this with everyone. For quite a bit I’ve wanted to create a fictional golf course on a real life plot. Luckily, this tool makes that approximately 1 million times easier! Anyways, I figured I’d try out the new trees feature while I was at it. So keep in mind... trees are very resource heavy. So when the program found 5000+ trees I knew that it would be “fun” to get the course loaded. The second red flag is that the course file was over 32 thousand kb in size, which may not seem like much, but most courses are well under 10 thousand. Somehow, though, the course easily loaded! Although it did take quite a while, so maybe “easily” isn’t a good word to use. Heh... Pics: The tree placements are actually completely accurate with the irl placements! (Yes, a bunch of perfect rectangles, just look at most of rural Ohio...) Unfortunately, though, if you look at the top of the image, the planting meter is completely maxed out. So at this exact moment, it just isn’t worth the effort of deleting all of those trees, IMO. But what this does do is create a great reference for when the course is ready to be planted on a standard lidar! And if the space it uses can be condensed, then it would 1 million percent be worth using! Anyways, thanks again for creating this program Chad; you have no idea how much we appreciate it!

Did you mask out any terrain for this course? Terrain really loads the object meter. If you're on 0.2.1 the trees also respect the mask and won't populate outside the important areas.

There's at least one official course that's 35,000 kB. That being said, I'd like to see the lidar courses be between 2,000-6,000 kB when all is finished.

Huh, interesting re: 15k trees. I definitely wouldn’t think that would be possible. I did mask out as much terrain as possible, but it does still take up most of the plot. It’s a relatively flat area but I don’t know if flatness equals less space. I’ll have to import just the pure lidar to compare.

Why is the mask not respected for trees sometimes? Is it because I've asked Chad's tool to incorporate trees to and it overrides the mask?
