Been practicing with the splint on and have had some good results. Managed to tie the course record 3 times with 55 (-16). I've been working hard to keep the shanks down but still are a few. Where it is killing me is the putting, especially anything 40ft +. It is so hard to get a good, long stroke in and often times I putt it about 20-25 feet and that is it, so if I can keep my shots within that range, I have a chance at the hole.
I really like this course. Get in the fairway and you can fire at every flag. Miss it and often times the rough or even the sand gives you a wide range of possibility instead of like 80-90% shot it is 70-90% Even if you take the average wow... that can really affect a shot. The par 5s can be hit in 2, but not very easily. You have to be creative or lucky to get close to the pin for a reasonable shot at eagle. There is one hole you can drive but once again it is just enough yardage that you have to get lucky or aim to hit a bank or the rough to get close to the pin, else you are in a greenside bunker or behind the green with a very steep putt/chip. This person did a fine job. Narrow fairways with small undulations and even some well played hills that if your drive strikes the hump, it has a good chance to jump sideways into the rough.
The nice pain meds don't hurt either. I find that I don't second guess my putting lines while under the influence
Unfortunately this is Canada and surgery is scheduled for 6+ months unless there is a cancellation. I can play with the splint but that sux. In the end I will work hard but I'm not expecting anything great. As they say, "What is, is. What was, will be. And what will be, which was, will happen again." So no sweat.
Don't know that quote? It shows my age and I'll give you a hint. (Arnold H.)
Bonus point if you can get this without Google or any search engine:
"Cogito ergo es. I think, therefore you is. See I just created spring."
