I was wondering whether it would be possible to run a competition of a smaller scale than the main ones run. I was thinking of running a competition based around a style of course namely British Heathland. This is not a style of course that we see often but are very popular in the UK with the most prominent example being Walton Heath, which hosted the British Masters last year and is regularly used as a venue for qualification for the Open and US Open.
The format would: 8 places with a straight knockout (I know many of the top designers are competing in the major championship design contest so this could be a chance for newer designers) 8 weeks to design the course If the contest provides some great courses which I hope it will perhaps the course could be used for the Open qualification as irl heathland courses often are I would be looking for some judges to help with the judging and the admins approval
I hope this can be a good way to have another wee competition alongside the main competitions

By all means, there's no rules against contests that aren't the main site-supported ones, it's even encouraged! It'll probably depend slightly on how things fall over the next couple months, but assuming it doesn't conflict too much with anything in my schedule, I'd be happy to help judge.
