hi guys
I am using Doyley's guide, in there it mentions working out the roll?
Is there a 'guide' to working out how much roll or no roll as may be the case on a shot?
I am guessing it is to do with uphill/downhill and headwind/tailwind
Thanks

Mostly to do with loft... and roll out really depends what slope it lands on, firmness, speed of greens. Most mid irons I like 3 yards..

Nic's right...here's my general rule of thumb but firmness/green speeds play a huge factor
For normal firmness/normal speed greens LW - play for 2 yards back spin SW - no extra yards roll 8i-PW - 1-2 yards roll 6i-7i - 3 yards roll 3i-5i - 5 to 7 yards roll 3w-5w - 10-20 yards roll

thanks guys, also how do you get spin using anything other than flop?
I can't seem to ever get the ball to land dead or even spin back

Short lofted pitches can spin back pretty well

I can't seem to ever get the ball to land dead or even spin back While the ball is in the air, hit the X button repeatedly (Triangle I think on PS4), and pull in the direction you want the magical spin to go..... OH wait, wrong game... sorry
