Real Life TGCT Golf Retreat - Myrtle Beach or Pinehurst

Hey guys, I've been thinking. This could be really cool to in the fall of this year. I would like to gauge interest to see how many bodies I could get to actually come out and play some real golf!

UPDATE: It's likely going to be the weekend of Oct. 23/24/25 2015

Here is the plan:

1. Weekend golf trip where we play Friday, Sat, and Sun.
2. Goal is to get 20 guys
3. Venue would either be at Myrtle Beach, SC or Pinehurst, NC.
4. We would stay at a venue where we could stay on the course so no-one has to worry about driving. (Plenty of play and stays at this venues)
5. Play Ryder Cup Style - 2 teams of 10
6. We would divide teams up by handicap and have a "draft"

Schedule of events:
Friday afternoon: 9 holes of best ball, 9 holes of alternating shot.
Sat morning: 18 holes of match play
Sat afternoon: A captain's choice tournament (5 teams)
Sun morning: 18 holes of match play

If you wanted to get a round in early on Friday (we could secure some tee times as well)

7. Lots of poker at night!
8. I could keep cost of the golf and lodging to probably somewhere in the $200 - $250 range.
9. Just need to cover your travel and any side bets (and poker tournaments)
10. I will get the money up front for the prize pool for the winning ryder cup team and captain choice tourney winner.
11. Of course we will have some PS4s, XB1s, and PCs for guys to get their virtual rounds in! I could see some crazy side bets going down at night on the game.

Would be an awesome way to play some real golf with some of our fellow community players and put some names with some faces.

This would be incredible. It's a long way from Vancouver, but if I could somehow get a day or two off...its possible. Mark me down as cautiously optimistic!

Damn 2 trips to Myrtle Beach plus a trip to Hawaii will be tough to swing. Going to Hawaii with just wife in June, then taking whole family to Myrtle Beach in July. Meeting my parents there so my dad and I can golf, while kids play at beach, putt putt, etc. Dont know if I could swing another trip, especially during football season.
