I just wanted to ask the forum if anybody is also having something such as a standard, consistent, sideways deviation of the putter towards a particular direction? In my case it is from right to left. I know that if I hit the ball at a perfect flat surface without adjusting one or two ticks to the right, just trusting the "zeroing" at the beginning of the shot, the ball will probably hit the left side of the hole and bounce away. Of course, the longer the distance to the hole, the more visible this effect. I consider myself to be a quite good F/F hitter with other clubs (95%ish) but that means nothing with the putter... Is it maybe that this club is more finely adjusted and noticing every minor deviation from the middle line? I have read that tempo is not important at putting, there is no such thing as a too fast downsing... but, is staying on the blue line at all times important? That would be the only clarification for me, as I noticed that I have a tendency to be on the left limits of that ideal blue corridor (although still inside it at the majority of times, but not in the very middle of it)

Not sure how you set up to putt, but it sounds like you use your left thumb on the left stick? I'm guessing here but I have the exact same problem as that which you describe if my thumb gets "lazy". I really concentrate on a straight line with the putter in the blue band, any wiggle in there and it can be trouble - usually the pull to the left as you say. I'll still move the marker half a cup to the right after aiming if my putting is off, can make all the difference.

I have this problem. I use my right thumb, on the right stick, and it always pulls to the left.
I basically have to mentally 'think' I'm hitting the stick from 7 o'clock to 1 o'clock to make it go straight.

Happy to hear that I am not alone Same as you, right stick... but I use a two-finger grip, which I felt made my swing more consistent. Not with the putter, unfortunately. Instead of the method you use, which I will test, I just add the deviation while aiming. But it is not always working, it adds an extra factor that usually decides on the ball going in or staying at the edge of the hole

I honestly believe that the sensitivity of the putting stroke for short puts, i.e. 5 feet or less is way too sensitive. IRL you have to be pretty poor at this game to hit a putt off line from such a short distance, as your putting stroke is so minimal. I can't believe how many putts I've missed from this range in the game, whereas IRL I would have sunk the vast majority of them. Another thing I've noticed in the game when putting from around 5 feet, is my putting stroke always seems to move off-line in the direction towards where my marker has been set at. I find this incredibly strange, as if the game is deliberately trying to make me miss.
