As the title says - but was feeling left out without having my own WIP thread.
A few holes sort-of laid down initially in the Swiss theme - and then decided to change theme to highlands......which is interesting when small sunken trees in a ravine on one hole suddenly change into giant redwoods in the middle of a links!
And grass manually planted in a central rough area on the next hole suddenly changes to be in the fairway, not the rough! (delete and re-plant)
The two toughest par 4's will be 292 and 338 yards........ And the longest par 5 can stretch to over 700 yards.......uphill.....
Run offs from the greens ftw.......

Sounds like my kind of holes there. I also have a short par 4 that I suspect will play over par despite me trying very hard to discourage trying to drive it. Looking forward to it

18 playable holes in - and I'm scared of my own course! Just played it in high winds - played pretty nicely and shot +2!!!! A couple of pics then: Approach to the 10th (inspiration from the 1st at Le Golf National):
(11th hole going up the hill to the top right, and 17th tee shorter to the right) By the way - if you attempt to hit your tee shot into the visible area of fairway - well, let me just say good luck with that!
Approach to 18 (and yes, there are certain similarities here to the 18th at Congressional):
(10th green is top right, and you can just about see the 16th (island) green top left)

Quiz time: Should I be: a) slightly worried or b) extremely worried ......that I've already run out of the plant meter, just 10 days into the construction process?

Could be a very relaxing next two months of designing if I can't add anything more lol. That parking lot by the clubhouse is going to be pretty empty.......all the courtesy cars for the competitors are obviously out collecting them instead

8th hole: just 292 yards......
Choice to lay up into a HUGE fairway - so pick your preferred angle with a mid iron.... and wedge it on.... Or aim for the green - yes there's a bit of water if you miss left - but a huge bail out area on the right.......
I'd guess my stroke average (in zero wind) in the designer is about 5.0.......
(3rd green the other side of the lake - a shortish par 5 coming in from the top right...)

The course now has a name (and mini backstory, at least in my head)
Welcome to Blackheart Cove.

Now I wouldn't presume to call it the most difficult course in the entire game....yet......but this scorecard says it might be up there (remembering I'm on PGA):
(admittedly this was setting it to Very High wind - which was 20-22mph the whole way)
EDIT: I improved in my next play-through - just 83 this time

And one final one for today: 9th green (central) - a beast of a par 4 at 526 yards:
To the left are the 1st and 10th tees, to the right is the 6th green.

The opening tee shot - a comfortably wide fairway on the 444yd slight dogleg right: (10th tee is on the left)
And the spectator view from the stands behind the 1st green - a nicely tucked opening pin on day 1:

And the 2nd hole - looking back up the downhill par 3 measuring 204yds on the card (not sure why all the (few) spectators are looking away from the green though!!)
