One thing I do want to point out is the fact that this will be played in July, right? I know I’m nit-picking, because this is my favorite so far, but won’t the foliage be a little out of place?

The first thing I did when I started my new plot was to pick heavy rough texture #5. Then the thought crossed my mind "Wait...this is the US Open...where in the hell are they playing that there's dormant bermuda? That doesn't make sense..."

Didn't stop me from picking it though...

You're totally right - early on I knew I wanted to get that "golden heather" look with nice open holes, but when I tried to use the Rustic theme for the greener trees, it just looked awful with that texture set, so I bit the bullet and had to go with this one.

I was intending this to be more of that "golden heather" type grass, but the combo of objects looking bad, and my computer not being able to handle that many grass objects without crawling made me try to find an alternative

Wasn't saying you shouldn't use it, I quite like the dormant/off-color look in the heavy rough (more than most I think). I really, really wish HB would allow us to choose from ANY texture to fill those 3 extra spots. Would allow for use of green heavy rough, then you could go with #5/#15 heavy for those grassy-ish areas...but that makes way too much sense!

Just like Augusta can heat up the golf course from underneath to make it go green, we have built in refridgerators underneath this one to make it go Autumn

Turns out ryanmcconnell was more on-point that I originally anticipated. A theme change was necessary for the sake of the course, so we are gently making the transition to summer
