Final touch-ups are being put into the course at the moment, good luck to all competitors and I want to acknowledge Jeremy Mayo for organizing this entire contest! Cheers!

I made some changes to the rignt side. This is the "edge of the property" and I want a wooded feel with some houses on the side but open wide up in the middle of the course.

Lovely looking couple of holes. I have a feeling that this course will be a lengthy one...

About an hour ago, I walked the East Course at Oak Hill Country Club, the host of three U.S. Opens, 3 PGA Championships, 3 U.S. Amateurs, and a Ryder Cup. And the course is expecting another U.S. Open arrival in 2030, and a PGA Championship in 2023. As I walked today to find inspiration for my course, I found really valuable things even if the course is half covered in snow at the time. Oak Hill is known for it's rolling hills and timeless oak trees. Everything seems to be placed somewhere for a reason. And when objects and fairways are made with a purpose makes it feel more like a grand stadium. Donald Ross' greens at oak hill with fairways pinched right before greens and bunkers on both sides makes them look like natural cathedrals, and holes that lead into the sides of hills that makes it fully enclosed and natural like a colosseum. I learn today U.S. Open venues are not there only for play-ability and difficulty, but they host their largest championship on courses that are "grand". They make the players feel small, but their ego's huge. And to make a U.S. Open course grand is to make everything with reason. "Why is that hill exactly that height? Why is that tree there perched on that hill?" There's always reason in design and that's why places like Oak Hill and all the other U.S. Open venues are hosting the USGA's biggest tournament.

I think Oak Hill fell victim to Fazio and a lot of what you see today, is what he put there. Good news is that the course is being restored to it's Donald Ross roots, which is something that is happening a lot right now. We could probably wave goodbye to half of the tree's lol. The course could look a lot different by 2023 which is when the next big event is scheduled there (I think)

I got most of the sculpting done now. Just finish the tops of the mounds and ridges on the sides of the holes. Plantings going to be left for another day...

Hey Dylan nice progress and its looking good, the fairway bunkers look a bit deep for my liking as one or two look like you cant actually get out of them and thats fair enough but the fairways look a bit tight so the penalty for a miss is too severe IMO. HOw wide are the fairways at 280-300?
