Anybody know how punch shots are effected by wind? I don’t use them enough when I’m not in hideous trouble

Anybody know how punch shots are effected by wind? I don’t use them enough when I’m not in hideous trouble I don't really know Rod, because as you say, we don't really play enough of these shots, but the adjustment I always make is to add the full wind against mph to the distance. But for wind behind I don't deduct anything as I feel the constant pitching on the ground cancels the wind out.

I double the win on regular shots and short irons but PUNCHING I was thinking on some of these links courses in 18 mph winds it might be handy.
NORMALLY - I just want to get to a safe area and not screw up the rest of the hole but am ALWAYS surprised how nice and far that PUNCH goes.

I don't have an expert answer but would tend to think a punch shot is not affected as much by the wind since it has a lower trajectory.
However. Just wanted to make this all about me. (lol joking,) I just had to do a punch shot an hour or so ago on the upcoming Campbells Run (Tour version) that will be in a CC-AM event. Just practicing for the event a little ahead of time Lovely course btw, lots of fun to play.
In TGC 1 I used to be terrified of punch shots, the cone would shrink to a very small amount and with my erratic swing plane usually meant I would put myself into more trouble that I began with.
This a punch shot with a S load of fade. Would never have attempted this in TGC1.
Slight wind so really hard to tell how it affected the shot.
Missed the birdie putt. Playing terrible today.
(ignore the spelling mistake)

Punch is pretty useless in this game in my opinion unless you need to hit under a branch or something. Regular irons are much easier to control, even in high winds.
In general they are less affected by wind that other shots though, obviously more impacted by the firmness of fairway and green
