Playing one of the Par 3's today on the Am Tour and ball ran off green into water on par 3. Only option i was given was back on the tee. Surely this is not only option?

You must have been out of bounds.

You must have been out of bounds. Nope. Had similar issues with drops before too Gotcha. I have had the same problems. Once, I had to actually leave the game because it didn't offer me a drop area that was playable (i was only able to drop right in front of a rock and couldn't get the ball out). Not sure what your issue was then. If it is a hazard (and not a lateral hazard) then it should have let you drop on the other side of the water, so wondering if the other side of the water was either OB or so far away that the game didn't register the ability to drop there.

Sadly the guys who make the game don't always know the rules maybe???

The problem with this game where you need a drop to continue, is that you can only move away from the point of entry in a straight line. HB should understand, that as long as you are further from the hole from where your ball landed, you should be able to move left or right in order to find a suitable spot to place your ball.

Amazing that people making a golf game don't know the rules of golf laughable. Not that i'm bitter, as i've gone from being able to hold my own on TGC2 to now not hitting a cows ass with a banjo. Need to get on the Z Tour ASAP.

It's not that HB doesn't know the rule. It's that, without knowing the course beforehand, HB doesn't have a good way of determining whether a water hazard belongs to a particular hole, is a lateral hazard, or whatever. So they go with a generic rule that isn't the right rule in all situations.
Yes, it should be something they work on. Who knows whether they actually have and were roadblocked. It's possible that, in order to get it to work properly, the course designer needs a rewrite. Or they could be completely ignoring the issue (which is hard to believe; it's been a bone of contention for four years).
