Currently, the shot suggestion setting is turned to On. The three options are On, Club Only, and Off. I think the biggest mistake the devs made for this game was implementing this change because when the setting is turned to On, it tremendously helps people putt. With the setting turned On, it gives you a shot suggestion while putting that moves the putt marker for you where it thinks you should have the marker. Now while I realize this is not 100% correct every time, it still think it provides an advantage to those who struggle with putting. I think we can all agree that the hardest and most realistic part of this game is mastering putting. I feel that with this setting set to On, it negates that art and assists those who otherwise would struggle with this aspect of the game.
I would like to suggest to turn it to Club Only, instead of On. This would put the marker when putting directly on the hole as it only gives you the suggested club and not the suggested shot before each stroke. I know that the marker for putting isn't exactly correct all the time but it sure does take a lot of thinking out of putting.
I would like to see this changed for every Tour including Q school, however if that is too much and would hinder the players struggling to make cuts in the Web.com and Champions Tour, then I suggest using it for the PGA ad European tour. You are not going to be able to accurately judge who the best players are week in and week out with this setting set to On and having it assist those people with reading how hard or not to hit a putt. Putting is what separates people in real golf and in this game.
Thanks. I just hope someone agrees (not to sure anyone will though lol)

I never knew the marker moves. Never noticed. Play a couple of holes with that setting set to on...you will notice on any uphill downhill putt the marker will be out near to where you should put it to make a putt, give a foot or two. Play with that setting set to Club only and you will notice that the marker is generally right on the hole give a foot or two.

It only adjusts to uphill putts (poorly I might add). People are so used to it now that nobody even mentions it (until you did). I wasn't a big fan of it but, like I said, it's not very accurate most of th time so if people are just accepting its placement on uphill putts, they likely aren't making them anyways.

I'm confused.. when playing tours, how they are set up the gameplay options are blanked out meaning we cannot change them. So they are set up by those running and setting up the tournaments. This is with it set to On This is Club Only

My true beef with it comes from yesterday's final round in the web.com open where i was barely on the fringe 10 yards away and because of the setting being set to on it gave me the lw pitch shot for whatever reason. I lined up for the chip and watched the ball sail over the green over some water and back into the fairway luckily. Mind you that is again user error on my part but i play with club only setting when I am not playing tours. So my preference would be to either allow me to select that setting myself or for it to be club only. I know its not accurate, i just figured id throw the suggestion out there...(this is what happens when you leave the game for months i guess lol, because I am not used to it)

I honestly don't look at that second number. If it's 65 feet 12" up I putt based on how far I think I need to swing back.

Makes more sense to have it off on a no grid setting since then the assistance actually help. For normal play it just means you don't have to drag the point around too much - not like anyone on tour is going to make a worse read than the marker...
