Hillside GC is home of next years British Masters and is a gem of a course. The back 9 was once described by Greg Norman as having some of the finest holes on Earth! Would be a great challenge to design and play. I'm useless at design but would be happy to help supply course planners and other details required. Anyone interested let me know, Thanks, Dave.

Played the course many times (I live in greater Manchester). Unfortunately I'm not into building RCR course's. A designer named Yeltzman over at hb studios forum might take you up on it.

Just from looking at pictures, the sharp-edged, sod-faced bunkers would be hard to replicate. You could use a brown colored light rough and maybe get a decent look, but it's very time consuming to do because you have to spline the fairway around each and every one. Your first cut is then also that light brown color. Good looking course though.

I thought about doing Hillside a while ago (I also live within about 20 miles of it) but gave up on the idea thinking that it would be tough with the tools we currently have in the designer to do it proper justice. It's a fantastic course, I've played it twice and both times it chewed me up and spat me out !

It was recommended by Tommy Fleetwood who is hosting the tournament in may. Its a further 50 yards back on top of a giant sand dune. Going to look awesome.

Great course, I played it a few years ago and was chuffed to bits to score 34 points. It was also where my dad broke my trolley by smashing his tee shot off the 7th into it.
The TGC designer won't do it justice though. There is no way you'd get the bunkers right, you'd get a TGC version of them.
