Why just PS4 users?, can do it on PC with a Xbox1 controller also Very interesting, I do this on XB1 all the time and never realized it, I always kind of felt the downswing motion could be a much shorter stick travel distance (not much past dead center), and about 50% of my shots never produce a full downswing line but I always keep it straight. Backswing I’m all wonky and out of the cone but my downswing is typically straight. It does seem more difficult since the last patch to short swing Shortswinger!

Now that is official I will be adapting to this swing. It’s a huge advantage. Look at this swing, it was heading way off line but stopped just short for an acceptable shot. If you had continued that line you would have seen that your shot would not have gone that far off line I’ve tried it on the practice ground deliberately trying to hit a bad shot and you need to go way outside the blue line. Can we just get on with playing the game. Edit: this swing didn’t even miss the fairway.

Not sure what you’re discussing here, but the above post is discussing how some PS4 players utilize a flaw in the game’s design to achieve an accuracy advantage by only moving the joystick during the downswing slightly past the origin point. It’s a swing “flick” method that achieves 100% power but doesn’t finish the downswing as is encouraged in the tutorial. To put it differently, this method proves that completing the downswing by achieving a “full” white line actually only serves to punish the player’s accuracy. [shrug shoulders emoji] Hum... Not exactly what it says in the first paragraph... HB says that the difference is negligeable... and according to them it's not an exploit! The term “negligible” is convenient and subjective. The mere fact HB admitted the flick method produces an accuracy advantage greater than zero is significant and problematic in competitive circles. Did you expect them to say, “Yeah, this method produces a huge accuracy advantage. It’s not how the game instructs players to swing in the tutorials and thus amounts to a huge flaw in the design”....?

I have said it a hundred times! Edit: so off the tee not a big deal. Try a fully lofted 2W into a tight pin. Worlds of difference!

Because I'm having issues with this new swing I turned my feedback on for a round. It looks like I do this for putting. Had no idea. I tried on the range to do this with the driver and couldn't.
Anyway HB says it's a non issue so I guess we can move on .
Good news I think I figured out something while playing with the feedback on. So that is good.

Pretty sure everybody has short swings regularly on putts so no biggie there even if it did matter!

Putts never give you a long swing no matter how far you push the stick through.

So what is TGC stance on this swing? Will short flickers be pulled up with the API check?

So what is TGC stance on this swing? Will short flickers be pulled up with the API check? Same as before I presume, short swinging itself has never been a factor in the API policy, it's whether you produce a super-tight dispersion chart that looks like the below. Loads of PS4 players have a short swing but only a handful are capable of producing such results even on their best day:

Still not 100% completion in the HUD, but better.. I just wished that the swing line length with a DS4 was a little less random, meaning that when I complete my downsing and hit the plastic it should always show a full line... which is not always the case... and vice versa, sometimes I don't hit the plastic and it shows a full line!

The solutiom = 3-click. 😉 Never.... EVER... I know it was a joke, but there are some folks out there that want to go backwards and play video golf from the 90’s. Don’t get me wrong, PGA TOUR in the Sega Genesis was a great game, but it has no place today. Just like the 3 click .... go away !

Because I find that when I'm thinking about what my thumb and the joystick are doing, I play like crap. Just pick a target and shoot. That's why I like this game (sand play aside). Very much like the real thing.

With all due respect, looking at some of the scores being shot, we already have video game/arcade golf. But, after seeing how the last patch has affected me, I'm beginning to believe HB could find a way to screw up 3 click too.

I just want to thank all you guys complaining about the flick swing in the hope HB will do something about it. I decided I would it’s something I do unintentionally maybe on a quarter of my shots and it stems from trying to play the pro clubs in TGC2, I’m now making sure I hold my stick forward at its finish position with a deliberate movement and believe it or not I’m actually hitting the ball straighter and with less tempo issues because it’s a deliberate action. 👍
