What's the thoughts of potentially revamping how scores are revealed? I just get this little niggle in the back of my head saying that there are people who monitor the leaderboards to see what the scores are while practising trying to beat the scores already posted before playing their rounds. I feel it would be good to try and get more of that feeling of pressure or, "I wonder how well I've done" feeling of playing all at the same time not really knowing how others have done into it further.
What I'm wondering is perhaps the leaderboards could be populated a bit more staggered for the 1st round to give that feel of uncertainty and not really knowing a target score right off the bat a bit like the in game leaderboards after each hole (also the program someone has posted on here showing a changing leaderboard hole by hole for the final round was awesome and inspired this thought too):
Say Monday to Wednesday it gradually reveals the 1st round scores as if you are playing through the 1st day:-
Monday = shows some scores after 9 holes (randomly selected) and the rest after 8, then 7, then 6 etc no full scores shown but all that have finished their 1st round would have something up even if it was just after the 1st hole score so it didn't cause people to worry (they of course can still see there scores in the My Scores table or at the top of the leaderboard).
Tuesday = a further say 4 holes shown (max is a score after 13 holes)
Wednesday = a few more holes (max is a score after 15/16 holes)
Thursday = day 1 complete and full day 1 scores showing with partial day 2 scores feeding through (like Monday to Wednesday but slowly through the day) - this gives people that haven't played only 1 day to see roughly what they need to score to make a cut but not knowing for sure rather than having all week knowing day 1 scores and about a day and a bit knowing day 2 full scores (particularly good for Friday cut days in the Pro and TST tours) - oooh pressure!
Friday = full day 3 scores revealed slowly through the day
Saturday = same as Friday but for final round although maybe this could be fed through a little faster perhaps
