So twitch has been putting ads on all streams now regardless whether you have amazon/twitch prime or not. Which is ridiculous imo. This would be ok but they also put ads every 10 minutes in vods. I went to watch afterdark as I was sleeping when it was live. I got ads every 10minutes. If i were to watch that whole show I'd have to watch 22+ ads. Now streamers who aren't partners get none of that revenue. Affiliates and non-affiliated streamers get nothing. Ad block doesn't block these intrusive ads as they are embedded in the video. Now there's a few ways to get round this. You can use twitch turbo which costs $9 a month. I'm not paying that on top of my amazon prime monthly sub. You can subscribe to the channels you watch. This is obviously great but not really viable if you watch many streamers. The option i'm using is Alternative Twitch Player for chrome. This is a browser app that changes the player look. It seems to play a bit better too. Most importantly though. It blocks these intrusive ads completely. Here's the link enjoy For chrome chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/alternate-player-for-twit/bhplkbgoehhhddaoolmakpocnenplmhf?hl=enFor Firefox addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/twitch_5/But yeah sub to the channels you like if you can.
