Played a few practice rounds of the course for this week
Initially didn't think too much of it, large greens, barren landscape....then I got repeatedly punished while going Pin-seeking on the back 9.
Tough greens, puts a real premium on playing the correct approach shot, I like it, lets see how the tournament goes...

Very authentic course this week... ok! not to my personal taste aesthetically but it was no grind & had some great challenges to overcome. 5 under, 7 under, 5 under & 10 under for an event total of -27. Remains to be seen if I've done enough to survive & keep my CC-A status.........

anyone know when the season will end ? and then what happens ? Currently in week 40, last events are week 42. Then we sit around staring out the window waiting for them to tell us we can play again.

Yes. And no q-School For the restart. What happens if I get a 5th promo mark on the final week? I can't see a reason why you shouldn't be promoted as it should happen normally, then I suppose you will start the new season in the next Flight. But if you want to be fully sure abou it, maybe it could be better to wait the voice of someone a bit more experienced than me. What I say is simply what I suppose it will happens, basing only on what I have understand until now and on common sense, but I could be wrong, so..

Round 1 of Horseshoe Bay in the books. Course is a visual treat and plays relaxed.
Play wise today, had my approach shots been as good as my putting I'd have shot 18 under. Conversely had my putting been as bad as my apps I'd have shot 10 over. If it weren't for slow downswings I'd probably still be on the course trying to make my 1st swing of the day. Finished bogey free 10 under. Will be swallowed by the pack with that score though.
Bummer of the day is 3 putting 16th after backing my putter and going for the green off the tee (slow downswing), highlight of the day was dropping a 29 foot putt to save par on 17th (very slow downswing app)
Good luck everyone, enjoy!

Searching for my last promotion mark this week - quick question. If I get promoted, does that mean I can't play next week? Because of the playoffs on Web.com tour

Crazy Croc i love how you downplay every round each week and then you finish right near the top with Master clubs. not sure if your standards are that high or you are trying to psych everyone else out before they play thinking if they don't shoot -15 it won't be good haha. that's my long way of saying great playing, hope you get those last 2 promo marks these next two events! i hit it pretty good, made one mistake on the 11th. missed at least one close one and finished at -8 which should've been double digits but a decent chance to go low the next 3 and get a promo mark that will soon be cleared

Just wanted to stop in and say thank you to the Challenge Circuit schedulers and players for their efforts in going around Horseshoe Bay! I spent a lot of time working on this course, and I am very proud that it ended up being chosen for this event. Please feel free to leave any feedback on either side of the fence. As a designer, I am always trying to improve and all feedback helps. Best of luck to all, and enjoy your rounds on Horseshoe Bay!

Glad to see this on the Tours, I remember when you brought the first version out and you asked me for my opinion on it. Wow that seemed a long time ago now.
