I have always used my left thumb on the left joystick. Anything else just feels completely alien and i don't know see how people do all these weird methods. (weird in my eyes)
I use the top most part of thumb to swing and to be honest i use that same part for any game i play. It is very comfortable for me.

Holy crap. Just went on the range with a metronome playing on my phone and it has improved my swing tremendously. Thanks for the tip!
Works in real golf too in case you've never heard of Tour Tempo. It is one of the few training gimmicks that actually shaved strokes off my game

I too use that KoastinThruLife, I find it a lot easier than some of the grips that have been suggested, My son who also plays & he holds the L Joystick with his right Thumb & Forefinger which I've tried but found the swing too erratic

This is why i don't believe that "tempo is inconsistent" - its not. People are inconsistent. Yup! If you can't nail P/P, F/P, F/F at will, you're the issue and not the game! As I posted quite a while ago, TG2?, you have to practice until you have the tempo thing down. Best way is on the range with a metronome!

This is why i don't believe that "tempo is inconsistent" - its not. People are inconsistent. Even as a PC player, i agree with this. With 2019 i can recognise why a tempo issue has occured when i get one, and change it for the next swing.
I can believe that it's more sensitive on PC than PS4 (mainly due to frame rates) but i don't believe it's random as some claim.

1.Hit the driving range 2. Google “metronome” 3. Set between 62-69 bpm 4. Practice until your ears bleed 5. Win tours 6. Get a real mermaid for a wife. Prestissimo, Moderato, or Largo?

I struggled horribly with masters clubs, until I did 2 things. Practiced with the metronome as posted earlier and I changed my grip. I had always used the fat part of my right thumb on top of the stick. But then I started just using tip of my thumb, then you just pull back and lightly flick it forward. And BOOM! I went from +4-+7 per round to -8 and -10. You have much more control this way. It really works! I will be glad to go into more detail if you like. Yes please!

Yes you need to put it some where that’s constant like table or your leg. I hear so many people complain about I moved the stock same tempo so why this time I get a slow fast. If your controller is tilted ever so slightly in any direction your tempos will be all over the place. You might think your holding the controller same way but trust me your not. That’s my two cents

I think I actually move the controller back as I push forward.
