Worst gaming related self inflicted injury

Found out just now that my 16 year old nephew is in hospital awaiting surgery. Apparently he wouldn't come down stairs to show his mum what he did to break the vacuum cleaner as he was playing FIFA online. She turned off the internet which threw him into a rage and decided it was a good idea to put his fist through a mirror. Dumbass.

What's the worst injury you or a relative have suffered from getting pissy playing video games?

I don't get upset at video games enough to hurt myself..... or anyone else.

That kind of rage, just like road rage, could be a sign of other underlying mental problems.

While playing a mobile MMO on my phone while laying in bed, I fell asleep and dropped my phone onto my nose. No injury to report - how hurt can one get by a phone falling from arm's length?

I’m not too proud. Back, particularly with TGC1 but to some extent in TGC2 I had a very bad habit of many things did not go my way out on the course all at one time I would end up snapping a DS4 controller in two with my bare hands. I probably broke well over a dozen of them in a 18 month period. Maybe two dozen even. One particular time I snapped one of these controllers with my bare hands the way it broke the plastic gouged into the side of my thumb and it bled like a stuffed pig.

No stitches needed or any of that but that definitely bruised my ego, what little of it there is left. And things are looking up though. I probably have only broken one or two controllers in the last six or seven months. Yippee for me.

Over 10 controllers and 3 monitors (including a 32" smart tv) have been broken because of my temper.

I full on punched my monitors and they instantly died. Also hit the sticks so hard on my controllers they came out. They are normally very difficult to just get out of the controller.

I am not proud of this.

Maybe a headache from cursing myself out? I can't imagine doing something physical. Like Jimmy said, road rage and other physical forms of rage are scarier and more problem-oriented than I'm ever close to. I can be hot-headed, but never enraged.

Once, I don’t even know what game I was playing, I smashed a controller to the ground in a fit of rage. Sharp plastic sliced by hand open... other than that I’ve stayed relatively safe

Im way too cheap to actually break stuff, think only one mouse have been killed in 25 years of gaming. maybe some mental scars perhaps.
But im also a very calm guy, only been "out of control" raging once in my life.

Years ago, I was playing competitive BF4 online and I was so mad at this guy online who killed me 3x in a row. My rage overtook me and I said the f word. I am ashamed still today...

I snagged my thumb nail on the stick of my old N64 controller way back when and ripped it right off (my nail not the controller) there was a lot of screaming on my behalf that day lol

If playing video game put me into a rage breaking stuff or myself, I'd have to seriously consider changing hobbies.  I've always considered it as something to do for fun and getting that mad doesn't sound like fun.

Playing fight night on Xbox. Would play Roy jones Jr. Got tendonitis in my right thumb. Wore a brace for 2 months.
