Started out as the 15th, but went straight to the 12th. Both are a big pain in the rear. Ok. 12th - Strong tail wind, I try and hit it as close to the green as possible. Rough/sand be damned! Any other wind, I play a draw in off the right bunker and hybrid/wood to the green. 2-putt par or maybe make birdie. 15th - No good advice from me here. I usually just play for the fairway closest the green and then take my rough/sand shot accordingly. Not even sure what the yardage would be from the other fairways you could lay up to here. I still feel like I have those reversed!

Quick practice round on Bedes today: HIO in the 5th(?) - horrible slow downswing, caught both the side slope and the downslope, and rolled out about 10 yards straight in! 15th - pulled the drive into the water - and this is where I get to drop:

I still haven't managed to replicate this shot from the TGC1 version. . .

Nice shot, but the tee box has been moved slightly since the original version

My fears about the 15th were realized as it ended all hope of the web tour as I put 3 balls in the water for an 11 on the hole and a 1st round 80. I had a 2nd round +1 to make me +11 for 2 rounds. The second round included a bogey on the 15th so my +11 includes +8 on that one hole.
Since my goal of making the web has ended, I am thinking of switching to pro clubs to attempt to climb up the leaderboard to try to get a better CC flight. Then I will switch back to master clubs for the tour. A sort of reverse sandbag if you will.
Anyone know where I can get some virtual dynamite?

I aimed to the right of the bunker a p/p would see me safely over, and a f/p would push me left and a longer carry, but still keeping the ball dry. Mind a slow swing would’ve screwed me. The safe option is to use the bail out fairway to the left and leave a long approach into the green

I went in left side, overcorrected, then in on the right side and then a horrible kick sent me back in on the left. On the 3rd attempt I was just angry. When you don't get to practice much, this happens. For some reason, this hole hates me. This was only the second time playing tgc in 3 years that I have had the max on a hole.
Just glad I only have to play the 15th 2 more times. I played the layup in the 2nd round and still made bogey. Go figure! It is like real life golf when you get the yips.

It is!! I've thought the same thing! I will be playing just fine and get the yips too!
I usually play the fw close to the green and do alright, but this time, in my R1, I played the bailout fairway, and double bogied it.
And the times that I've hit max on holes, almost every time, it is due to hitting water multiple times.

I think the pressure has got to soooo many people in q-school that the course is playing a lot tougher than it actually is

Enough of this hole, can anyone shed light on the other 17 hell holes? Here was my go at it yesterday:

I also found the water on the 15th. Never did have a yips problem before, but I did vastly underperform on my q school rounds. Still have a shot at pga though, maybe, barely. Finished up at 21 under. My final target is now adjusted to -61. I have carded 62 on the mountain so it kind of depends on the wind more than anything. But with 5 eagle ops, almost 6 -10 should be attainable per round. Those are my thoughts going into next week.
And I just wanted to add since hoots in here, I think I like bedes more now than when I first played it. I've read that some people are glad they won't have to play it anymore, but I'll be back routinely. This is the type of course that'll make you step your game up or quit for the night. I think it'll be my warm-up course, if that's even fathomable. Great job on the course. Definitely served its purpose
