There seems to be some sort of bug with the controller sensitivity. I've been using an Xbox 1 controller without issue since the original TGC, and it still works perfectly with TGC2, but in the 2019 version I have no slow back-swing control during putts/chips - it just goes from 0 to 100% draw-back and then downswing is either 0 or 100% so I smash it across the green or move the ball less than an inch.
Also can't seem to get downswing tempo to land in the blue box no matter what I do, and this was with beginner clubs.
The mouse works perfectly but I would really like to use the controller as I have been since the start. If this doesn't get resolved I will have no choice but to switch to the mouse or just not play at all.
Has anyone else had similar issues?

Sounds very abnormal, to be sure. Do you have a friend with a controller that you could borrow for comparison purposes?

Yes SmilingGoats - I meant to add the fact that I had already tried the A/B test to eliminate the controller. After a 2nd test/confirmation I again used the Xbox 1 controller with TGC2 and it worked flawlessly for all shot types, putting, slow back-swing, etc.
Then again on 2019 I found the same anomalies - Slow back-swing/take-away is ok with everything but putting, which is 0 or 100%, and on the 2nd go round I could not putt the ball at all - I mean it would not advance - register 0in. but count (on course mode) as a stroke - and got me nowhere in training modes. I also found it virtually impossible to get the tempo to register anything other than "fast" regardless of how I moved the joystick which resulted in huge hooks to the left on full shots, and mild left miss-hits on chips.
Then I tried a Logitech game-pad with similar layout (this game-pad got me disqualified when I first started)and all the findings were exactly the same, apart from the joystick movement which registers "very" straight - hence my early DQ. Could not get good tempo readings resulting in big hooks, and 0 - 100% putting back-swing issues.
I hope that mouse/keyboard play is accepted, because it looks like I'm going to have to learn a new method.

I know I'm on a PS4, but I'm receiving strange responses from my controller which never occurred on the previous two games. When in the address position ready to hit a normal shot, I'll start my backswing and my avatar will respond with a very slight movement, and then the club will return to the address position. This can happen 8 or 9 times before I receive a full backswing. Never happens with any other shot - very strange.

PS4 - while addressing my shot, my player starts to drifts to the left... i usually start moving the left joystick left to right.. I always though it was the controller, but after reading this, not sure if it is the controller or the game.

It sounds like there is something wrong with your hardware or controller drivers. It could be that TGC2019 and TGC2 are fundamentally different in how they interpret input, and the abnormal input they receive is being handled in a way that works in TGC2 but not in TGC2019.
I suggest posting this on the HB Forums where they can have their people try to help you.

I think there must be some sort of issue. I for cannot slice the ball in 2019 however i try, yet intgc2 my sort of default swing was a slight slice, which i corrected by adding draw. In this game i can also hit the ball straighter with tour clubs than with pro clubs although my swing tempo is inconsistent so i stick with pro. Me too with the chipping. It goes 3yd or full distance. Try a lob wedge flop shot with max loft, should go about 14-15 yds the spin back about 10.

I'm on XB1, so far no issues with either of my stock controllers, other than having to change batteries from overuse

My Xbox controller is possessed, still having issues with a fast down swing or even a slow upswing, on one occasion it read very very slow, I've tried all sorts of ways to hold my controller I've paused slightly at the top of my swing but alas I still get the odd fast swing, it may sound trivial to some but he drives me bonkers, I really am at the end of my tether with this game

I use an Elite controller and a standard, never had an issue with either, in any version of the game.
