Just wanted to comment on how much I love TimB's new avatar picture - that's gold! Bit of contemporary art there 😉

Most people in CC don't progress as fast as you. Some players are CC lifers and most slowly work their way up the ranks over many, many months. I personally spent almost a year in CC and one of my biggest gripes was that every week it felt like you were playing a different field. Made developing friendly rivalries really hard to do. Also, as other people have mentioned the weekly promotion schedule made it really tough to ever put together a run of really good tournaments. You'd finish good one week so your reward was getting to play tougher opponents and usually fall back down the leaderboard. Now you get three months to work on your game, build up familiarity with your opponents, maybe string together a few nice finishes in a row, and then feel much more confident you're ready for a higher tier once you get the chance to earn your promotion. And in case you missed it, the promotion tournament will usually have restricted entry. The random guy playing poorly at the lower levels wouldn't get a chance to play in the promotion tournament as entry needs to be earned by consistent good play. Overall I don't see the changes having any serious impact on the Pro tours, but CC will be a much different experience than what it used to be. Maybe it's just me but this is a lot more like what I wished CC was back when I was slogging my way up through the ranks. Fair enough fair enough. Good points made. I didn't mean to presume that everyone's experience will be like mine has been so far. But I definitely think there will be quite a few exceptions to the rule who will essentially have to do 3 or 4 times the work to get to PGA level through no fault of their own. 2 wins and say 8 top 10s all in a row would be stellar form at any level. That would move you up two levels in 3 months. I just think we're undervaluing the balance of competition overall. Everybody is pretty effing good lol. My experience was like yours. Started ccb made my way up. Learned a lot. Skipped from web to euro in consecutive weeks. Few weeks later PGA. Few weeks later world. It’d have taken me more than a season to do that under the new regime likely, as I didn’t get a win till PGA, though I do recognise we’re the example rather than the rule.

With the promotion events it's likely you would have at least kept pace in the new model - with good play it would be possible for you to go from any tour all the way to the PGA in 3 months max. The potential to fast track throughout the season via promotion events is there assuming there are slots available at the very top tours. I'd be surprised if there weren't at least a few in each as we attempt to keep top tours full and active.

I’m the Quentincental CC lifer.(I’m not correcting the stupid iPads autocorrects lol) Joined in Jan 2015 when it was the Champions tour. Started in Champions B. There were these 2 guys who were friendy with me when I joined. One tournament I was in a tie with one them for the last exemption spot or something. It came down to a count back and I wound up getting promotion to Champions A. Then due to growth they did away with the Champions and went to CC format. Started in CCD...worked my way up, even winning one for the promotion. Made to Web. Then wound up in the hospital for most of last year. Didn’t start TGC2 until November. Struggled, and eventually wound up back in CC. I’ve been in Champions B-Champions A-CCD-CC-C-CC-B-CC-A-Web (couple exemptions into Euro,) back to CC-A-CC-B-CC-A...’I’m just here watching everyone pass me by. I miss the old crew from back when joined, most of them don’t even play anymore. Don’t really know the new crew so feel kind of like an outsider lol. Would like to get back to Web, it’s where I feel most comfortable. Making a push for it these last couple weeks. Otherwise I’ll be stuck in CC polluting the place up lol I’m also touring the WGR lol 442 last Feb 2017–spend 10 months in hospital—slide to 1801-couple months ago—now climbing back up -888 Tim, you are my biggest rival and you probably don't even know it... I joined a few months after you but we pretty much play on the same level.. You always play your tourney rounds early and I always play with your ghost ball.. Some weeks I beat you.. Some weeks I don't.. But in TGC2 we were a pretty good matchup.. I hope that continues on TGC 2019.. (why HB, why not TGC3 ? ) My career looks something like this.. TGC1 CC-D CC-C CC-B CC-A Web Euro TGC2 came out Euro Web CC-A CC-B CC-C at this point switched to players clubs and then CC-B CC-A funny thing...both you guy's helped me more than you'll ever know early in my TGC Tours career

(though I can't play with the ghosts, too distracting) I always check to see how you are doing and where you are on the leader board. Last week I had my scorecard and yours open in different tabs. I was looking at round 2 and saying to myself "what, I never had 5 eagles in a round ever, what the hell is going on"..then scrolled up and realized I was looking at your scorecard. Jim ABU_Bear used to be another I kept tabs on but he is a snob now up in PGA so not in competition with him anymore. And "he who shall not be named" was another I kept tabs on to see where he was wagging around the leader board Giraffe72I had to retire the ball. He complained to HR that I was abusive, threatening and insulting to him and that I kept hitting him with metal and wooden clubs.

I'm liking the look of the new system, I wonder if this will lead to some flights having a lot more players than others for a while until everyone finds their feet. I'll probably be heading downwards for the first bit because I've only been playing about in the designer in 2019, but hey it makes it more fun.

Tim, you are my biggest rival and you probably don't even know it... This got me wondering how many secret long term stalkings rivalries there are in TGCT I have a couple against people who'd have no idea too - suspect it's probably quite common. I play with the same ghost most weeks! @habs something lol he prolly has no idea. One of those random TGCT things lol

My guess is with the PGA licensing and 2k now publishing... they went with 2019 canuse this will now be an annual release? Just a guess on my end

I just joined TGCtour in July. I have played in 3 tourney's thus far but was thinking of just playing 2019 exclusively, waiting for the new season. This would mean I miss the last 3 tourney's in CC-D. Will this effect me in 2019 or will I still be placed in CC-D? I am ok if I am in CC-D but also ok if the powers that be tell me to go to Q-School again. I like playing and just want to compete with players that are are my level. Thanks for a great site and a fun place to hang out! I'm with you on this one. Now I've started playing TGC2019, which I'm really enjoying, I don't want to keep reverting back to the old game to finish the season off. I'm done with that game now. I'm certainly in favour of everyone going through Q-School again, I don't think it's much fun for anyone playing in a Tour and struggling week in week out.

Just a guess on my end The name of the game is not going to determine whether there will be annual releases. Adding the year to the title instead of a sequel number has been standard fare for sports simulation games since the 1990s. With the year in the title, you immediately know whether the game is the most recent iteration, whereas "3" tells you nothing about how current the game is. For example, Mega Man 3 is almost 30 years old.

Personally, I would like to see 2 circuits (CC-Amateur and CC-SemiPro)... Then the 3 Pro tours (PGA, Euro, Web.com)... but whatever the Admin folks decide is fine with me. Doesn't matter how things are set up, we still have to work hard and play well to move up.

Sorry if I'm slow to the train of discussion. Will season 5 happen solely on TGC 2019 or will it continue as well on TGC 2?
