So if beginners clubs are such a disadvantage because of the rolling on the green, why are they barred from use on certain tours?

Not whining, just curious as to what the issue is with club selection. each has their advantages and disadvantages so why cant we use whatever we are comfortable with?

The club sets are difficulty levels, that is not debatable, nor should it be any longer.

Just a heads up as well - when the patch drops and we create this test event - if you are in-game (say you leave it on all day) and the patch has yet to update for you - you will still be able to play this event w/o the updated patch. So it's important that if you are going to provide any post-patch feedback that:
1. You are sure the patch has updated by restarting your game before playing the Post-Patch Test Event 2. You are really sure the patch has updated by restarting your game before playing the Post-Patch Test Event
I know you all will be chomping at the bit to test it out so this is the major detail to keep in mind before starting the event/providing feedback.

There are nine different tours you can use beginner clubs on here at TGCT.

Is this patch going to actually drop on PC/XBOX/PS4 on the same date? That is quite the achievement if so and probably means they could have dropped it on PC a while ago.

So if beginners clubs are such a disadvantage because of the rolling on the green, why are they barred from use on certain tours? Beginner Clubs = Easy Level Setting Players Clubs = Intermediate Level Setting Master Clubs = Hard Level Setting

So if beginners clubs are such a disadvantage because of the rolling on the green, why are they barred from use on certain tours? Just stop... this is bordering on insane.

Like I said, I was just curious about the distinction between the clubs other than the obvious distance and accuracy.

Don't take it personally mate, it's just that this debate has been done to excruciating death (in this thread and countless others) and the timing of your question was right after we finally got the patch notification and the result being that season 5 can finally begin... For what it's worth, all history with this debate aside, I don't think your question is unreasonable, because nobody sane in the top tours would even consider using beginner clubs because the distance disadvantage is colossal. But the fact is we have the rule that pro tours must use master clubs, and that's the rule, end of story. We also won't have precise wind measurements in the top tours, again it's just a rule that the admins have decided on for an added challenge at the higher levels.
