Energ1ser Did you happen to catch the TV show? I didn't even know there was one. Will have to put it on the "to watch" list.

How the hell did this complete noob get over 800 views for his shitty attempt at designing a course? WTF?? (granted about 80 of them were me)

Ok, first off, interesting choice electing to go with 11 holes. I usually only lean toward 9 or 18 so this was a little unorthodox for me. Lol, just kidding... First hole, I'm alerted immediately that my pro clubs aren't welcome here. Luckily I gambled with the tailwind, but hit a perfect slow, and still somehow managed to end up like 20 yards past the water and in the middle of the fairway. I then left an approach pin high, but missed my 6' birdie putt and sank my 8' par putt. Not even much of a slope so no idea how I rolled that far past but I'm already mentally preparing for it to be that kind of a round. I really liked the sight lines on the par 5 second hole. I shanked my second shot into the stream and took a double bogey. Hole 3, par 3 was my favorite hole out of the 11. I nicknamed it the Smoking Turtle because of the green side bunker: I really hope that was intentional and you were just waiting on someone to point it out lol. Hole 4 had a big shadow across the green, which I know some people don't like. Pin set 1 wasn't in it, but may be something to look out for on other pin sets. Hole 6 green kind of stuck out like a sore thumb for me, not sure if you were going for an intentional punchbowl or just forgot to smooth the edges, but I would touch it up. I hit my tee shot over the pin and up the slope in back and it rolled back down to within about 10' though, so it plays well as a punchbowl. I would just raise the mounding up around the green to look more natural if that's what you were going for. 7's view from the tee was cool because the canter really made you think about the water on the left. I thought that was cool. Hole 8 I got up close and personal with what I'm assuming is a bunker spline second surface technique? Not sure I like it or not here, BUT it did give me a new idea to try where I can use a spline on one side of a bunker to mulch it and make it look like a deep, grass-walled lip instead of the bad default-edging the game gives currently. It's only in my head right now, so no idea how it will turn out in practice yet. And if that's what you were going for here, great idea, but I think the lips need to be steeper if so. Hole 9 I got reminded my clubs are too short again, and had a headwind so I couldn't gamble this time. I even clubbed down to play it safe, and hit a perfect drive down the middle, but you must've been looking for revenge after your drive on hole 4 on my course. I also really liked the planting around the clubhouse deck, looked even better than the screens you'd shown of it already. Hole 11 tee also had a really good sightline. I'll definitely check this out again for a full 18. I may try it again from the closer tees to see if it brings more strategy into play for my pro clubs, but that's not really a fault of your design or anything. Overall, looking great, I shot +4 over 11 holes which is actually better than usual for me.

gamesdecentI thought of doing something different for this contest and I'm really hoping that being only 11 hole will help it stand out lmao Thanks heaps for the feedback, I always like getting it from all different people (even those using baby clubs) lol I tries to implement a bit of shot decision making off the tee with this course, on several holes it's actually more beneficial to lay up with a wood instead of taking out the driver all of the time. My greens are full of subtle breakers, kind of the opposite to yours i guess haha Depending on tour approach, most of the time you can leave yourself with an easy putt, otherwise you will have little sliders that might go both ways. Hole 3 is my favorite too, and the bunker was meant to be a dinosaur but EVERYBODY thinks it's a turtle, so I should just start saying yes, It's a turtle (shut up VctryLnSprts!) With the shadows on the green, I have had to make a compromise, I thinks all up there are about 8 pins out of 44 (will be 72 when done) that are shadowed, Can't always please everyone but I don't want to take away from my tree framing either. Your right about hole 6, that's the 1 hole on the front 9 I'm not happy with, it will be getting a makeover if I have time. Hole 8: It took you this long to realise that I suck at bunkering? lmao Bunkering is what I am worst at in the designer, still working and learning. Well, you weren't nearly as nasty as I was hoping lol. Next time I would recommend the front tees, the way the course is set up is for CC-Am to use the front tees and CC-Pro to use the back. the front tees are tipped towards pro clubs and the back towards master. Cheers!

If it had a tail I would've said dinosaur. But the best part for me was the way the ridge texture made it look like he was blowing smoke lol.

It's a turtle with a giraffe's neck. Tenahka has invented a new creature, a girtle.

Ugh Mid- life-course crisis time! It seems as though when ever I step into the designer I finish the day with more work to do than before I started! 5 and a half weeks until the deadline, I still have 8 holes to lay out, another 3 fairways to rip up and redo, a f*ck tonne of bunkering to re-sculpt, more planting than you can poke a bush at and make my creek look pretty! I think I can........ I think I can.........

I don’t mean this sarcastically, but sometimes it’s faster to start over than to rip up and redo stuff. Just a thought.

I have now basically wiped everything that I created in TGC2 (the first 5 holes) and have re done them. Hopefully, a few more hours in the designer today will see me lay out the final 6 holes, that would be a relief for sure!
