Ok, new player observation and comments...... I am playing in my career mode (offline) to practice more. Which I definitely need! The courses that were randomly put into my tour seem overly difficult. I think I can chose my own courses for my career mode but thought it would be easier and quicker if I let the program do it for me. The 9 Courses Difficultly on my tour: 1 Easy 1 Medium 2 Hard 5 Hardest Fairways, Greens and speeds all vary. I am learning about the roll out of my shots after they land but these hardest courses give you next to no chance at stopping a ball on the green. With tight fairways and punishing wind, heaven help me to keep it out of the rough! Is there a way to see if these courses are actually real life courses? Or some designers creativity? Seems that some designers are sadists! LOL! I am no quitter and know I will get better but any advice from our veteran players? Oh, I am thankful that the program adjusts the computer players to match my level of performance. At least it gives me a fighting chance, well in my own mind anyway. Ok, my rant is over. Have a great day everyone! I hate to say it, but it just takes playing a ton of rounds to figure out. I can give you a few pointers though.
1. Figure out what side of the cone you are missing most. If it's a fade or draw action. Then compensate you shots to allow for the ball action. Example: You hit a draw most of the time. Line up 5 or 10 feet to the right of your target. Not straight at it.
2. Learn your roll outs. This is based on green firmness. Over compensate for a while. also, try to set up an uphill putt.
3. Elevations. The basic rule is + or - 3ft equal 1 yrd of distance. Example: the pin is 12 ft below your feet. 3 goes into 12 4 times, so subtract 4 yrds of distance.
Those are 3 steps that will help over time. Good luck!

Cool, Thanks!
#1 I am still a bit inconsistent. So it may take a bit to get that down. #2 I have learned about uphill putting, I am better at it than down hill. #3 I have those calculation correct, I guess it's the wind that gets me.

I don't know about anyone else but I enjoyed the added spice that my rivals match gave me in this event. My opponent had already played so I loaded them as my ghost. I know that gives away their final score (* see edit at end of this post) but it still made it interesting. I've screenshot the card below. It was close throughout and I didn't lead until I chipped in for eagle on the 18th to steal it. I also noticed that I got the nationality of my opponent wrong in my spreadsheets so that is now fixed ... and one win for the Rest of the World! * Edit: I have since found out that if you go to Game Settings - Social, you can change "Show Rival Scores" to Off and it won't show you the Ghost score when you go to select it. Of course the "spoiler" leaderboard will still give away your opponent's score earlier than it should but hopefully that will be fixed in TGC2019.

Here are the results for Event 1. I was happy that we only got 4 DNFs out of the 24 players. I'm still trying to find the best way to present these results within the thread. If you can't read these very well, please click on the link at the foot of the thread that takes you to the Google Sheets version. Just a beautiful course! I played it a while back with a bit more wind and struggled! For some reason today I played one of my best rounds when looking at all facets of the game. Putting was crazy! I wish I knew how to bottle it. Anyway, I’m not a cocky jacka$$, I just really enjoyed that round, and wanted to share it with you all. 57 (-14) yet on my tgct rounds I’m 7 strokes less

OK, maybe this is the noob in me, but I can play the current event for rivals and post a score, yes? I saw others had scores for the last event under the OTHER TGCT AFFILIATES
This would at least keep me active in the society and others will get to know me a bit better.

Please play in the society even if you are not in the leagues part yet. In fact I won't include someone in the leagues until I see them playing roughly half the events or more. That is partly why I keep all the scores so I can see who is a regular and who isn't. I'm trying to minimise the number of DNFs in the league section.

I absolutely loved the first course it really felt like you were playing in the middle of a city like New York ambient sounds of traffic would have made the immersion complete, I have favourited it and will play it again. I hope the designer brings it over to 2019

I agree the course is great ... except for that stupid Biarritz 7th green! It's way too deep. I nearly fell asleep waiting for my ball to stop rolling back and forth ... twice!
