First, I wasn't sure where to put this question. I was going to put it in driving range, but then, it sounded to me more like an issue than a tip, so I put it here. apologies if its in the wrong one!
Anyway, I was playing my practice round, before R3 of Pebble. (was not playing PB, I always play a different course for tempo practice, first) All was going pretty well, was actually doing fairly decent, pars and a birdie already and I had another birdie chance at hole 5.
I was within a yard. I hit the ball, and instead of the soft tap in, the ball just shoots out to the right, 90 degrees about 3 yards or so. I thought, what in the world??! I put it back again , and this time it does the same thing, only to the left. Finally, I get the third one to go in.
But then, the rest of that round, the ball just did crazy things while putting. it never seemed to go exactly straight, on the meter, no matter how much I tried, or felt like it should. It seemed to get a bit better when I stopped paying attention to the meter, but still, all the way through the round, it was noticeably something different, way way off. So much so that instead of playing Pebble Beach right off, I exited the game and came back in, thinking to reset the controller or something. It seemed to not be quite as bad when playing PB, but still was there and I noticed it.
Now, for reference, the drives and approach shots were not affected. I was dead on, it was doing exactly what I thought it should, perfect/perfect/in the cone. This was ONLY happening on putts, and after I settled down, seemed like it was only on the short putts.
So has anyone experienced this? Anyone know what would cause it, and how to fix it? Is this one of those issues you guys know of, or did I just have a glitch, then start overcompensating?
