...it's starting to creep into my job! As some of you know, I teach high school math. I have been talking about scale factor, so I had the idea to create an assignment where they had to design and create their own nine hole golf courses, using accurate and realistic measurements drawn to scale. Some have turned out pretty well! Just thought I would share. Pics below. Doesn't look like I'll be stealing any ideas for future courses though...

maybe its just me, but it really looks like the top picture was a rendition of an existing scorecard lol.

We went over some examples of golf holes and I showed them score cards. I didn't care if they re-created a course (I don't think the student in the top picture did), I was more concerned with the fact they could calculate scale factor!
