To everyone, please eat right and exercise. When I was young, I never took care of my self. I have high blood pressure and diabetes. i've known this since i was young but didn't do anything about it. I am 44 years old and on dialysis for 5 years and get dialysis 3 times a week, had surgery on my eyes 5 times, loss feeling on my feet, and a number of other issues. I still have trouble exercising, but have been eating better... hardest thing is staying away from carbs (bread, pasta, potatoes, rice). Please take care of yourself. Don't be like me.

Joined a 24 hour gym near my house yesterday. Plan on doing quite a bit of cardio. Will get there later tonight for the first time. I cold turkey stopped my awful drinking habit a week ago and the next day started much better eating habits.
Did something similar to this for a large portion of 2011, but the damn drinking came back and over time everything regressed to the not good shape I started off with last weekend. One week down before I even start the gym and 5-6 pounds gone. Long way to go.
Took my blood pressure earlier today, and its the lowest I have seen it since 2011.
One friggin' day at a time!

Great start @swaeromotion I hated the gym every day for the 1st couple of week but forced myself to keep going, once I started seeing the results, I started looking forward to it! Keep it up at it will turn into a natural part of your life! I'm now down 17 kg (38lbs) just over half way to my end goal.

And I proceeded to hurt my knee at work on Monday, so no gym for the near future. Oh man, that sucks! Sorry to hear that, hope you have a quick recovery. Had a week off to rest my knee. Been back to the gym for the past two weeks.
Now doing treadmill. Just walking, but inclined and at a brisk gait. 5 km in 54 minutes a day. For me that needs to lose a lot that is 700 calories a day. Keeping my heart rate in the 55-85% range. Gradually will work in weights, etc. but want to ease it in until my knee feels better/more stable.
Got a fitness app to track calories and nutrition today.
Down 23 lbs and sober in/for 29 days.

Nice to see some peeps keeping fit around here. Good work, keep at it!!!
My Achilles heel is booze, pizza and chocolate. I go thru spurts of exercise. I’ve just had a way OTT over-indulged holiday so I plan on getting back on the roads running soon (I hate the gym) and cutting out bad alcohol habits (I still plan on drinking occasionally - I love it too much. Pizza and wine yummy yummy yummy in my tummy).
A good thing for those that don’t like weights (I hate the gym) is doing loads of Bodyweight training like press ups. Worked for me insanely well a few years ago. Went from a scrawny ass 9st (im a short arse 5ft4) to a 10st 5lbs in 6-9 months. Great for the soul is running and Bodyweight exercises...! Better than deflating gym sessions anyway (I hate the gym).
