Oh, and last week his hair started to come out. He was so annoyed by the bush of hair in his bed that he asked me the next day to bring my hair clipper and just cut it all off. Haha, that's my boy... no doubt about that.

Hey guys, sorry for not keeping you up-to-date lately, but I'm frantically busy as we are not only fighting the cancer, but also preparing to move flat in August. Right now I'm basically going to my night shift, visit my boy right after that, going home trying to find at least a few hours sleep, then back to the hospital in the afternoon. And in between that, I'm trying to organize the craftsmen that we're going to need soon, buying stuff for the new house, and so on and so forth. But let me give you a quick update on our son... About a week ago the fever he was suffering from was getting even worse/higher. The docs said that they think it's coming directly from the tumor, and if the scheduled chemo on Thursday wouldn't help to bring it down, they would most likely eliminate the tumor without delay and not wait for any more chemotherapy. Fortunately the chemo was helping immediately, within hours. Since then, he was afebrile (until yesterday; we hope it's not getting that high again) and feeling really, really good. The first two chemos he had already reduced the size of the tumor from 880ml to 590ml, so it's definitely helping thus far (apart from the side effects). His blood values were also improving each and every day lately, so we just hope it's going forward like that. Next chemo is on Thursday again, and the final surgery is actually scheduled for August 13th. Oh, and last week his hair started to come out. He was so annoyed by the bush of hair in his bed that he asked me the next day to bring my hair clipper and just cut it all off. Haha, that's my boy... no doubt about that.

Thanks for your continuing support, guys. Although it's just "virtual", it feels really good... We're all virtually family This place gave me unbelievable support when I lost my father in December...and when I battled my major arm surgery and recovery in 2016. When I was at my lowest...you guys picked me up

I just read this. Sorry to hear this, Thomas. Shame that he, or any child, has to endure this. Going to keep you all in prayer. 😌😌

For the very first time since we entered the hospital on June 23rd, my son has left the building. He was feeling very good (again) yesterday, and as he doesn't suffer from fever actually, so we were allowed to put him in a (wheel) chair and take him to the park inside the hospital area for about 30 minutes. Unfortunately I forgot my mobile in the room to take any photos or videos, but I can honestly tell you that this moment made me (and my wife) wanna cry tears of joy... PRICELESS! Without having looked at the tumor in detail lately, the doctors are still very happy with his current status. I just keep praying this will continue like that... #KeepOnPraying5th chemotherapy (one with the highest intensity) coming in today. We'll see how that one goes... #KeepOnFightingHappy to hear the good news Thomas! Awesome! Thanks for the update!

Going outside for short walks is our new highlight of day... He forced me to take him outside 3 times yesterday. Watching doves picking up bread in the park or seeing the helicopter landing on the platform for him actually feels like I'd meet Tiger Woods & Eddie Vedder on one day it seems.

Final tests today (CT, medical ultrasonic & full body MRI scan) after 6 weeks of chemo before my little fighter has to take the next big step, the surgery on Monday. On one hand we are looking forward to those tests, so that we finally get a definite result of what the chemo has done/helped thus far. On the other hand we are quiet a bit anxious... what if the results are not what we hope, prayed and looked for in the past few weeks (although it looked pretty good lately, but you never know). Guys, I can tell you... this "feeling" almost takes your breath away. But let's stay positive and hope the best. Please keep your fingers crossed or praying one more time... we can't get enough of it actually. #KeepOnPraying
