Catching up with all the threads I hadn't read lately & I come across this after reading lots of well wishes from the RRCC community. I want to add mine Thomas........ Rest assured many of the cyber friends you've made over the last few years are collectively sending prayers for the health of your son. Together as a family you'll get through this - stay strong & beat this thing................ good luck little man!!

Hey guys, sorry for not keeping you up-to-date lately, but I'm frantically busy as we are not only fighting the cancer, but also preparing to move flat in August. Right now I'm basically going to my night shift, visit my boy right after that, going home trying to find at least a few hours sleep, then back to the hospital in the afternoon. And in between that, I'm trying to organize the craftsmen that we're going to need soon, buying stuff for the new house, and so on and so forth. But let me give you a quick update on our son... About a week ago the fever he was suffering from was getting even worse/higher. The docs said that they think it's coming directly from the tumor, and if the scheduled chemo on Thursday wouldn't help to bring it down, they would most likely eliminate the tumor without delay and not wait for any more chemotherapy. Fortunately the chemo was helping immediately, within hours. Since then, he was afebrile (until yesterday; we hope it's not getting that high again) and feeling really, really good. The first two chemos he had already reduced the size of the tumor from 880ml to 590ml, so it's definitely helping thus far (apart from the side effects). His blood values were also improving each and every day lately, so we just hope it's going forward like that. Next chemo is on Thursday again, and the final surgery is actually scheduled for August 13th. Oh, and last week his hair started to come out. He was so annoyed by the bush of hair in his bed that he asked me the next day to bring my hair clipper and just cut it all off. Haha, that's my boy... no doubt about that.

I knew the clippers were gonna be a favourite.
To lift his spirits Thomas let him shave your head. It will already grow back.
All the best.

My head is shaved for more than 20 years now... there's not much left to do unfortunately. But he could probably shave Mummy's head... I'll ask her.

#KeepOnFightingThomas, Oh how I can relate to what you are going through. Spent two weeks of January in the hospital with a bladder tumor that developed where they had removed my prostate in the prior September causing me uncontrolled bleeding, blood clots and bladder spasms. I thought for a few days that I would never make it out of there. A third chemotherapy stopped all of those symptoms and I was able to restore normal bladder function again in about a week. Just finished 6 months worth of that chemo and it absolutely knocked the crap out of the tumor and the metastatic prostate cancer I am still battling. The side effects are BRUTAL. But tell your boy he is COURAGEOUS and he WILL BEAT THIS! You have to stay strong because he is counting on you. My Family and I are sending our prayers his way. I'm getting choked up just writing this. #KICKCANCERSASS
