Today I submitted a score of 9 for my 3rd rd by accident and was rightfully DQ’d from the Humana tournament following TGCTour guidelines. However, by no means did I intend to submit a 9 as I shot a -9 (62).
I know TGCTtours is trying to be authentic to the sport, but I don’t think a “9” would have got me anywhere near a scoring tent after a real round on the PGA tour. Also I am not hear to make a real $50,000, I am hear to have fun, and by being DQ’d for improperly submitting my card with full intentions of getting my score right isn’t my idea of fun. By no means did I intend to submit that score and by contacting the tournament directors immediately after proves this. I was desperate to just get things right & left with no options to do so, leaving my week to waste. DQ’s should be reserve for those with dishonest play and submissions of lower scores without reporting.
This may happen again because 1, I currently play two tours and 2, I’m that sort of guy. My suggestion moving forward is a 2 stroke “inconvenience penalty” if a honest wrongful submission occurs either + or - score.
Just my 2 cents. Keep up the good work fellas

I could understand the error if you put a minus or a plus sign in front of your number, but I can't for the life of me understand how anyone could put just a 9 etc, and think they were doing the right thing..........

Sonic. I also show you the score as validation when you enter so you can see. So it should have showed you a -82 as the score you were posting.

Ultimately who knows how or why I submitted that score, I am completely 100% at fault. It was a busy morning and I do remember being distracted by my wife while I was entering my score lol.
My beef is not so much about what score was entered, as much as making sure what was submitted is correct. Clearly this wasn't the case for me when I realized quickly I was sitting -84, and told Scott to remove my score. After a score is submitted a player is powerless to make any corrections.
I just feel this is a very harsh penalty to be issued when you feel you really haven't deserved it by dishonest conduct. The current state of the rules vilify accidental submissions.
I would totally accept a DQ if had played dishonestly or submitted a lower score for purposes of gain, but none of this was my intention so I feel a bit slighted by this. I played an honest week and felt I played well only to have it taken from me because of a couple key strokes.

We are going to make a change in the next couple days that will prevent any score < 50 from being entered. This should help those that enter the over/under instead of the real score.

Might be better off making that 40 or 45 Tim. We've had a 53 posted already and it's not beyond the realms of possibility that someone goes sub 50

Might be better off making that 40 or 45 Tim. We've had a 53 posted already and it's not beyond the realms of possibility that someone goes sub 50 If we remain using realistic courses, and enforce the straight shooter policy, it will take an "Act of God" for this to happen. We (Specifically TGCT Staff) hopefully never need to have the sub 50 conversation based on course selection. That's when we've gone ridiculous.

Somebody will eventually do it. Just sadly not me

We have already had 52 on the current course selections. It's only a matter of days and someone will crack 50 and it will not take an act of god or a straight shooter to do so.
Next week Red Diamond could see it.
Not sure what you mean by remain using realistic courses, but presently every course over all tours and all the weeks, have had close calls with the number, this weeks PGA being the furthest with a 55.
Unless more difficult courses start at some point being used, the number is going to hit eventually. It would be in my best interest for more difficult courses to be selected, so I'm biased, as I do better on more difficult courses and the pressure to birdie every hole has certainly been draining for 6 weeks.
