If anyone is looking for some Battlefield action before this launches BF 1 is currently on sale and the premium pass is free. Not sure about other platforms/regions but on the Canadian PSN store the base game is $6.75 and makes you eligible for the free premium pass which includes all the DLC.

I played the beta of the game last week and thought it was closer to BF4 than BF1. Some good changes in it like anyone can revive a player in your squad but only medics can revive the whole team. The reviving action though is quite long so might not be worth it when under fire. The ammo amounts are small but there are pick up points at bases as well as health pick up points. The addition of fortifying your bases is good as well. I find the screen and bit busy with snow and embers from fires so harder to make out enemies. One thing that annoyed me was the spotting as you seemed to only be able to spot an area not another player so it's harder to keep track of them. Maybe some things will be ironed out by the release as it's been put back a month.

I've been playing a wee bit of this and I'm quite enjoying it. One thing that makes it hard for me is the spotting as that was a big part of my game in previous games. I would say that teamwork is vital as the new anyone can revive can help you push forward, the reviving action has been shortened from the beta so it's not as much of a risk now.
One good feature is the ability to throw grenades back after they have been thrown at you. I've not tried it yet as normally I just get out of Dodge when a grenade is flung. Also there's a thing where if you near an explosion you get thrown back but you don't die. So if you're clever you can play dead and find the right opportunity to escape or just take out a few enemies.

There's been a lot of drama over the TTK and TTD, but after a lot of complaining by the community, they have settled on the original TTK. I've been playing a lot of BF5 and loving it! I do wish we had more maps, but it's still a lot of fun for me. Great change of pace from golf.

I heard they wanted to make the game easier for beginner players. Safe space for a WW 2 game! LMAO...No hardcore mode either.
I am glad I did not buy this one. First one I have missed since BF3. If it get discounted maybe I will check it out.

50% off on XBL right now. Saw that xmas so bought it. Wasn't big on it at first, but really liking it now. Skipped bf1 but couldn't play bf4 anymore cause it was almost impossible to get on a good rush server. Conquest is alright but i find death matches dumb. So the grand operations mode is right up my alley. Like how it mixes up the gameplay. |

I decided to get it at 50% off. Played with my son today and have to say I liked it. Grand operations was fun. Gun play is solid and the 4K graphics are really good. Of course the sound is amazing as all BF games are. Very immersive game. Doubt I'll play it that much though. Really got it for my son. I don't understand why they went WW2 and did not do the battles that won the war. You know like DDay? DDay would look awesome in 4K.
Still think if they went current/modern they could have done something amazing. So many more options than WW2 which has been done so many times.
Ohh well it's worth 30 bucks. That's about it imop.

I played the new firestorm mode on the game last night and its quite good. There's a lot of hunting for weapons and hiding from other teams, chat is quite important on this. Staying away from other players at the start is advised as you only have a knife to begin with. Sometimes it's best to avoid a gun fight as a lot of teams will stick together.

Played a little. The graphics and FPS are solid. The looting is horrible at times and you die to fast imop.
I also prefer 3rd person and the slower pace of PUBG. Plus I think the gun play is better in PUBG.
Just imagine those graphics and FPS on PUBG!
