Title inspired by the Allman Brothers Band album "Idlewild South" (one of my fav all time albums).
This one is shaping up to be really nice so far. Nearly 9 holes complete and i'm already looking forward to getting it done and out there for people to play.

Hey, there's a backstory here.......
Par 71 Black Tees = 7505 Green Tees = 6770 Par 3βs = 4 Par 4βs = 11 Par 5βs = 3
Welcome to Idlewild Memorial GC, located wherever your imagination takes you. The town of Idlewild South has a population of only 548 people, half the size it was before the Great Flood of '08. After an offshore earthquake caused a massive tidal wave that wiped out the entire center section of the town, many decided not to rebuild and left, although no one was harmed during the flood as all residents of Idlewild South value their lives over their stuff.
The remaining residents along the outskirts suffered only minor property damage and decided to not only rebuild their homes, but also the rest of the town. Their biggest question moving forward was... how do we rebuild everything? Being of modest means but owning various skill sets, the question was tough. Some people wanted to rebuild all of the demolished houses. Others wanted to invite a corporate entity to grow jobs and wages.
The town could not get a solid consensus until a 10 year old boy spoke up and said, "We need a golf course." This hit a solid tone with everyone in Idlewild. There are two things they all have in common, the love of golf and love of rock music. They even re-named their town to Idlewild South in honor of the Allman Brothers's second album after the Great Flood. The song "Revival" from that album was the anthem as they all grabbed shovels, wheelbarrows and went to work.
After 10 years of bulldozing, trench digging and moving a lot of dirt and sand, the course is now open to the public. Please note the citizens of Idlewild get priority tee times as each one who contributed to the build have free lifetime memberships. Wait, I just got word that they are giving everyone on the planet FREE golf on their course - everyone's a member!!!!!
