JULY 4 UPDATE: This still isn't working - current rule carries on in the meantime (exemptions don't carry over)
Sponsor Exemptions expire at the end of the week in which they are earned. They no longer carry over to future weeks if you can't use them immediately.
Effective immediately.
This was supposed to be coded into the site last October but it hasn't been implemented yet and we get inundated with tickets every week which we have to manually process. So unfortunately starting now, if you can't use your exemption the following week it will expire and you'll have to earn another one.
Thx!

Scott,
Just a quick note to say that I think this is a good idea. Keep the folks playing with a by-product that the Ctte should get less tickets. Win win.
That being said it may be worth editing the sponsor’s exemptions part on the website as it still talks about non-use will carry forward exemptions. Don’t want to give those armchairs lawyers the opportunity.....

We are aware the Rules/Policy is not up to date - that requires Tim to push the update to the site which will hopefully happen soon. Regardless, going forward we'll be directing traffic here until it updates in case Tim doesn't get to it for a bit.

Question about the exemptions. Couldn't find it anywhere in the rules. I am curious if you are playing on an exemption, and you finish the next event above the exemption line do you get another exemption for that tour or do you just earn the promotion? Feel like the answer is just earning the promotion and will need to earn the exemption after, but just want clarification.
Thanks

@stj530 - I was in this boat 2 weeks ago. I had been absent from the game for a few months and decided to get back into it as i missed the game a lot. I was in CC-A and earned an exemption to the Web.Com tour. I was able to shoot well enough to earn another exemption during that first tournament in web. I earned an exemption for the European Tour and was automatically on the Web.com tour. I hope this helps.

Thanks You'll get both the confirmed promotion and also the exemption into the next tour as well.

And you can relate it to the real tour as well. You turn down a sponsor's exemption there it's not like you get to use it for another tourney if you don't use it. Thanks for all the hard work you guys do.

Does the exemption from finishing above the line (not the sponsor's) also expire after the next week or is it valid for the next tourney you play regardless if it's the next one on the tour schedule? I'm going to finish well above the exemption line (CC-E, -27, t-20th), but I'm not sure how much I'll get to play next week, if at all. Thx in advance for any helpful response.

Finishing above the exemption line earns you a sponsorship exemption, so what you are referring to is what the OP talks about. So hopefully you can get your rounds in next week as they expire after one week now.

I'm new to this tour part of the game and still trying to figure it all out. I'll probably get the rounds in, it's only my sister's wedding & I'm just her best man/maid of honor so nothing all that important .

"And do you, [insert groom's name], promise to take this putter - to have and to hold - to cherish and love forever, as long as you maintain a handicap under 10?"
See? Easy!

Update - Tim has fixed the bug that was causing this not to work. So consider this rule back on in a testing phase. If you have an exemption and you don't use it (ie vacation or just don't play) it should now carry over to the next week. If anyone is in this situation in the next few weeks could you post whether it's working for you or not (before I update all the verbiage on the site and officially reverse this rule again)
