See when you start designing a course and the meter is at 0 regardless of how many trees, plants and rocks you have. So if you started with a blank canvas does the meter go up when adding the above items? I know some designers rather start with nothing and add their own, but would adding more affect the meter and gameplay?
Personally I like to have something there to work round and save time in doing all my own planting. But I know that in doing so it can be time consuming deleting all the objects you don't want.

Auto-gen trees do not count against the object meter. Hand-placed trees do.

Auto-gen trees do not count against the object meter. Hand-placed trees do. Thanks that's what I thought, I don't know how much time I'd lose deleting the auto-gen ones. But if it gives me more objects and smoother gameplay then the free trees are worth it.
