I personally would be quite happy if you were to reimburse yourselves some of the money you've spent, although obviously I can't speak for everyone. That's not making a profit, that's just covering your costs. And maybe pay for the odd round of golf in the name of market research For those extras when you need them it might be an idea to let people know what you need. It's great having a bit of a surplus for you to plan with, but something along the lines of we have x in the kitty but need z for y, might get you a little boost in those one time donations when you need it. Only a suggestion though, this is exactly what I was talking about before. Great info, thanks for everything you guys do

Great update on monthly costs, I had no idea it was anywhere near that much; glad I got off my arse and set-up the monthly contribution. Agree with Giraffe72 that specific project needs if communicated should see a jump in one-off contributions to assist with them. Thanks again for all the time, effort and $$$$$ that the three of you have put in and continue to do so that we can all enjoy TGCT (even when my golf is shiiiiiiiiite). As far as I'm concerned you can use some of the accumulated funds to have 'planning' session down at your local pub.

We have 130 members who have agreed to contribute monthly totaling $627.00 per month. Additionally, we've received $1,739.00 in one-time donations. Our monthly expenses include: Server costs - $315 Forums - $81 Email (AuthSMTP/Mailchimp) - $85 Freshdesk (tickets) - $20 So as of right now, our monthly fixed costs are covered for the first time thanks to this latest push of donations. I think we can all agree that Tim has gone out of his way by covering the void for nearly 4 years. We occasionally hire .Net developer help for Tim during the busiest times (like the change of seasons when things are restructured or when a new game comes out). We'd like to be able to hire a dev more frequently to help clear the list of updates and bugs and add new features. Surplus donations will help with that. I did not alter my already set up monthly donation, but I did add in a bonus donation after the call for help. My estimation was actually a slight bit higher on the costs monthly ($500-$800 a month) before I saw this post. To want to push this site further adds in costs hard to quantify (developer costs and server/hardware upgrades), so that total is a good start, IMO on the monthly donations. I have a question about the PayPal monthly donation thing. I am wanting to up my donation $5 a month, but I am hesitant to change it via the current method because I do not want a second donation occurring. What I mean is that I am hesitant that my current donation per month will keep happening and then my altered (new, slightly higher) donation will not replace my old donation, but rather, will be a second one in ADDITION to my current one. Does Admin have past donation verification that changing a donation REPLACES the current one rather than making a second donation?

The donation subscriptions are like any other PayPal subscription which you can manage in your PayPal automatic payment settings. If you're leery about altering the current subscription, you could cancel it altogether and then create a new one via the site. Here is where to find your payment info: www.paypal.com/us/selfhelp/article/Subscriptions-FAQ2391/1

So since I don't use any PayPal services I guess I can try to alter it in the near future and give feedback as to whether it works as intended or not to help others that go this same method.

Just an update on what your donations have improved on the site - in case you missed Tim's post in the shoutbox
We've been growing by leaps and bounds the last few months. Our auto-score pulls had ballooned from taking 35-45 minutes (which we ran every hour) to well over 7-8 hours (with some failing/errors) which resulted in a lot of you being frustrated at scores not being pulled in a timely manner, some even missing deadlines.
Our hired developer was able to optimize this process and cut it down from 7-8 hours and now currently takes less than 15 minutes (as of this morning). We're moving servers shortly and it's hopeful we'll cut this process down to approximately 5 minutes.
This was #1 on our list of things to fix/optimize. Moving forward, with this newly optimized code, we're going to update the leaderboards much quicker - ideally every 15 minutes. Look for this change to be in place by July.
So thanks to all who continue to support the site with donations - know that your money is being put to good use. The list of bugs/improvements/new features is long - we'll keep you updated on all the progress.

They have the score pulls down to under 2 minutes (!!) so that's amazing. We'll be updating leaderboards every 15 minutes shortly. This will fix many of our issues we had over the first half of the season.

Do you have any info yet how much re-tooling you'll need to do for the new game? Considering the swing change in particular - will the HB API be returning different/additional data?
