A request came in from a friend to build a course local to him in Canada and I gladly accepted. I have just started working on some testing textures and laying out the first hole. No real progress photo's just yet, but looking forward to getting underway with this fully.

So gotten things underway this week properly with the first 5 holes laid out. No photo's as of yet but will have some soon. Its definitely going to be a fun project to work on. Its my first Canadian RCR project, I do tend to stay away from NA courses as im usually not that familiar with course. Most of the courses I have done in the past are ones ive either walked or played or its been televised so much I may aswell have been there ππ So im grateful to have Kev who's local to the course give me some help with this one. It's a relatively short course, sub 7000 yards but I wont be looking to alter the length of the course. Its a very compact layout and adding an extra tee will throw that out. Instead what I am looking to do is remove the light rough and slightly tighten up the landing zones. This isnt really to punish any players, its just to simply make them think about their tee shots. The course opens: Par4 - 374yds Par5 - 524yds Par4 - 370yds Par5 - 528yds So implementing the tighter landing zones and remove light rough should make -6 through 4 holes an accomplishment rather than an expectation. Obviously the conditions will be tested as there is no wind in the designer and the severity of the wind could massively impact UX. Ill keep you all posted throughout

Hey my buddy just became a member here and hooked me up with some passes. No idea when I'll make it there but if you need anything checked out, let me know and I'll help you where I can.

Thats awesome!!! For me one thing I know ill have some difficulty with is the overall sculpting, its a pretty flat course from what I can see so photos of certain areas of the course would be fantastic if possible to ensure I stay true to the course. Outside of that if theres anything signature or specific in that course that you think needs attention, a photo would be awesome

Got to work on putting the last few bits of planting into the first hole before pressing on A piece of advice and take it for what it is worth: forget about planting until you have all 18 holes laid in. Make the holes be and play exactly as you want before worrying about the cosmetics. If you do have to make changes to holes (and if doing a true RCR it's inevitable) you will save yourself a lot of time and effort in deleting and replacing planted items. Just my 2 pennies...

Front 9 is all laid out, back nine measurements and plot points are all in place too. Will always plot it out before hand mainly to ensure it fits the actual plot and flows as it should. I always do some early planting across the first few holes to ensure I have the best fitting theme for the cosmetic side. Just my process
