Hey guys, Long story short, I've had many attempts in the PS4 designer, never got to fully design a hole, there would always be something I didn't like to make me trash it and start again, picked the game up cheap (£5.99), for the PC a few weeks ago with the sole intention of using the designer. I wanted to pick a real course to copy, wow, what a learning curve it's been, tracing the course with ghost-it, trying to locate my steam screenshots and courses in my PC, using the controller to move around, but then switching to the mouse for the nitty gritty, moving the zoom by mistake a couple of times after spending 5 mins lining it up. Ha Well here it is Always kept coming back to this course, probably because of the nice rectangular shape of plot and the lack of planting. How do I now move forward?? No water put in yet, and there is 59 ft between the low and high points on the course, where do I start with the sculpting, I've got the elevation data of each hole, just not a lot of idea on how to use it.......Looking for some tips please

Probably start with the lowest point on the course, and if there is water there, make it by lowering the land to the water table (as opposed to placing water). Build out that hole, and then build the surrounding holes in reference to that hole (i.e., the tee box of the next hole should be 4ft above the green from the previous hole etc). Use each completed hole as a reference for the surrounding holes.
Starting from the lowest hole and doing it this way should prevent you from running into too many issues where the holes don't fit together.

Thanks for the reply, kind of figured you'd say work up from the low point, when I first started replacing my traced out holes with new textures, it was taking me a long time per hole, I thought I would lose interest doing all 18 in succession, so I decided to have a go at sculpting after completing a nice 3 hole triangle, holes 1, 2 and 9. Turns out this was the high point of the course, but for a novice, I think they worked out quite well, I even managed to add a reasonable lake/pond with my first attempt at multi level water, trouble was I didn't like the way the adjacent holes were hanging off the edge of a cliff, I can't believe the sand didn't fall out of the bunkers haha. I continued for another couple of holes, pulling up the land I was working on, to meet the existing holes, but decided to re-flatten and complete all 18 before tackling sculpting, I haven't touched the course today, I'm too scared to start sculpting. I will tinker with it soon, it is strangely enjoyable, although I fully expect it never to see the light of day, it certainly makes me appreciate the talent that you, and countless other designers have.

Quick question regarding sculpting. What’s the difference between red and blue tools. I’ve only used blue ones and gotten by pretty well. Thoughts?

let me help. Ignore the red ones entirely unless you have to fix a water table issue. Seriously. ignore them.
