So I didn't really get going much until this weekend, but I'll be making this a priority now. One minor issue, I noticed that I changed my rough textures, but it looks like the old textures remain on the retaining walls. Unless someone has a solution for that I'll have to re-do them, it's not as obvious in the below screenshot, but since I use a white texture for the light rough while building, there's another hole where there's some white stuck around a retaining wall. So anyway, here's the first hole, partially finished. Only a few trees to just give the general idea. The course starts along the Nile river for the first few holes, heads into some relatively flat desert around the pyramids, then heads into some rockier desert terrain (plus an oasis) on the back 9 before heading back to the river at the end.

That happened to me before too! I changed the rough to white so o could see it, and then when I changed it back it stayed white on the retaining walls. SO annoying! Sorry that’s happening to you, too.

Sorry for not updating, tend to do the whole course in stages so things have only recently started looking presentable. Starting to get pretty close here, have some more trimming and planting to do along the river and oasis holes (my process was to do some careful custom planting around the holes, then fill in behind that using the fast-click method, and now I need to clean up the edges of that a bit and add a few things in to get the look I want). Need to clean up the cart paths a little too, add bushes in spots along the water line to get some more texture there, and a couple things around the clubhouse that need to be finished up. Other than that the big thing I want to do is add in some more visual features in the highlands section of the course, maybe some tomb/excavation type stuff, that'll probably be the last thing I work on before publishing. Anyway, I've also named the holes after ancient Egyptian deities. Tried to pair the holes and gods appropriately but some make more sense than others. In any case, here's five photos, and the holes in these photos are, respectively, Ra, Sobek, Apophis, Anhur, and Sekhmet.

Crap, he had the patience to do pyramids... we're screwed. ;-)

Crap, he had the patience to do pyramids... we're screwed. ;-) Eh, it's only a flatten tool. Just need a steady hand and a feel for how to consistently shrink it AND increase the time on the shrink button as you go otherwise the sides become steeper as you go. Had to do them over again several times. And the back one is still a bit wonky, I'm just not sure I can be arsed to do it again. In retrospect, I should have tried to make them the correct size; as it happens they're too big, the great pyramid in reality is about the size of the second largest of the ones I did

They look fantastic! I love how designers keep thinking outside the box for ways to create new things in this game. I applaud the creativity my friend, can't wait to play it!

Water line planting is done, cart paths mostly cleaned up, rebuilt the 11th fairway which wasn't working very well. Did one archaeological site, the concessions tents work nicely for that. Aborted another that I couldn't get to look right. Have one more idea in that respect I might try. Possible I might publish on Friday, Saturday is probably more likely though.
