Cardinal Bluffs Country Club is my new fictional project and will hopefully be my second completed 18 hole course. The inspiration for this course is a combination of some of my favorite courses on the west coast of Michigan along the shores of Lake Michigan. The course is being built in the Highlands theme. It will be a par 72 course with lots of elevation changes as there are lots of rolling sand dunes that make the terrain very hilly. I have lots of great ideas for a fun and playable layout. I will post pictures of some of the highlights as I go so check back here to see updates. I will post pictures soon of the holes I've already been working on. Estimated Publishing Date: May 2018

Where's the top right pic from? Lost Dunes? Yup. That's Lost Dunes. I was a caddy there years ago.

Fellow Michiganders might recognize the pictures I put up there but if anyone else is curious...
Top Left: The Golf Club at Harbor Shores (Benton Harbor, MI)
Top Right: Lost Dunes (Bridgman, MI)
Bottom Row: Arcadia Bluffs (Arcadia, MI)

I travel between Chicago and Ann Arbor a lot, so I always pass by it and try to peek over the dunes to see it. I received a quasi-offer to play it someday, so hopefully I will. The person that offered also offered me Kingsley Club, so I decided to capitalize on that one first, and it was well worth it.

That's awesome! It's cool cause Lost Dunes is on both sides of 94 with a tunnel for golf carts going underneath the freeway. It's a beautiful course (if you don't mind losing balls in the dune grass). If you get the chance to play it you will not be disappointed! I'm surprised you recognized it since it is so private and hidden not many people have heard of it. I'm jealous you got to play Kingsley, that must have been sweet!

Here are a few "first look" pictures of the style I'm going for. Since it is set in Michigan I will be adding trees but it will not be heavily wooded. On the West side of Michigan the sun sets over the lake creating stunning sunsets. The lighting will be a late afternoon round just before the sun begins to drop out of the sky. During the sunset on one of my inspiration courses (Arcadia Bluffs) a troop of bagpipers plays as the sun sets. I want to provide that relaxing feel of the daylight coming to an end on a warm summer day on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Update:
Was able to put in several hours of work today. I got the entire front 9 laid out including fairways, bunkers, greens, and tee boxes. Also added light rough to 4 of them. It's shaping up to be a fun layout and I have lots of ideas for eye candy. I have a lot of the major elevation changes sculpted but I will get to the more detailed sculpting soon.
I will be streaming a lot of my design hours on twitch so feel free to stop in and give me some pointers or maybe learn a few things from me!

Update:
Got some fun stuff done today. Tried to lock in some of the immersive elements of the course. Added a road, parking lot, clubhouse, driving range, practice green, cart shed and some planting between holes 1 and 2. Trying to use a lot of objects this time that I haven't used before. I'll try to get up some more pictures this weekend.
Once again if you see me on twitch feel free to pop in and give me feedback or ideas! I'm still nooby in the designer so I need all the help I can get.

Going to be resuming work on this one soon. I want to get this one out before TGC2019 release.
I completed 2 courses since the last time I touched this one so there will be some rework to do since I've improved my sculpting technique.
