The poll has now closed and the winner is Chillingwood Resort by Mayday. Congratulations on the win Jeremy it was well deserved. Thanks again to all the designers for creating these courses and for taking the time to vote. I am looking forward to seeing what gems are created from the new contest, as the standard set in this one will take some beating.

Makes me laugh that 1 person played ny course since voting opens...explains the 2 points Yeah, we could have used a little more time to play some of the courses before wrapping it up. I haven't had a chance to play even half of them yet which is why I abstained from voting.

Congrats Mr. Mayonnaise! Lol... for real, well done bud If I had a nickel for every time I was called Mayonnaise ... well let’s just say I wouldn’t be designing video game golf courses in my spare time 😂. Thanks Jacob & all!

Thanks all for the congrats and thanks again for Neon Ninja putting this on. You look at the top 5 with Bradley, Simon, Jacob & Mitch and there’s some serious design chops in the group. Best part, is now there’s a lot of well-designed 9-holers out there for folks to enjoy — and perhaps some good 18-holers for those who decide to carry on the projects.
Routing already planned for Broken Hills Dunes and hope to do a little construction this weekend. Cheers!

Just finished playing all the courses and came in to leave a vote but found it was closed. Instead I'll just mention that my 5 favorites were The Lake course at Blackhazel, Queen of the meadow CC, Desert Rose Dunes, Chillingwood Resort and The Heather Course at Lantana Bay. A lot of other enjoyable courses well made and it was a pleasure playing them all. Best luck to all in their next challenge

I certainly did notice the short holes and I love that type of playability. Funny, I noticed exactly zero of the cool things you mentioned. Sorry. I played these courses with minimum effort and really quickly. I really wish TGC had some sort of course text you could upload. Like a twitter post describing a golf course. If I had read what you just typed, my round would have felt very different. I still hate the no-light-rough thing. An option for some intermediate rough would be the solution to that. On my Cuba course, I was testing an incomplete hole, and the ball rolled off the green and about an inch into the base rough. I had a 78% lie. That's not entirely fair. An intermediate rough that will give you no worse than 80% would be perfect. Use that instead of light rough for a difficult or US Open-style course and that's perfectly fine. I agree with you on the light rough. As I said it was more because of the short holes and even if you missed the fairway it was only going to be a pitch in. I needed that protection of no rough and I also wanted to design a course completely free of bunkers or water. Real life courses will have fairway(roughly 10mm), lines of semi rough(25mm) then light rough of about 2 inches. Outside of that is the heavy rough. For the new game they should really improve on this. It would add an extra dimension to designing as well. I've really tried to push the boat out with my tool/object skills my last few courses. I hope it doesn't take anything away from my courses but I do enjoy that peripheral stuff. The issue with light rough or not is an interesting discussion, and a thing I would love to see in a future version of designer is a slider for how penalising the rough should be. To me the semi rough in many cases is way too forgiving in this game. Skipping the semi rough entirely is sometimes a good option i.e., if you want your course to have a feel of bermuda grass which in real life is quite nasty even when cut short. The fact that The Lake course at Blackhazel is with no short rough gives excactly that bit of more trouble if you miss the fairway, and to me leaving out the semi rough makes the course more interesting. I just played Congressional (not part of the competition I know) and it also has no short rough giving that Bermuda grass effect if you miss the fairway. On Balckrock County with all the driveable short holes it also makes sense to have no short rough or it would be less fun and too easy so totally get that. Back to the future: A slider for semi rough and one for rough - either with numbers like green speed and firmness or alternatively types of grass, would enable you to crate a course with the traditional short cut and longer cut but also give an option to set a realistic penalty to missed shots. A feature for a third rough (surroundings) would also be nice so all grass outside the golf course (or holes) itself could be even longer and tougher.

A slider would be a great idea. I wish we could also have options on any surface area, i.e the approaches to greens where we could alter the mow pattern. Definition is huge on a golf course.
