I have played all golf games and used to run a league back when the Golden Bear game was around in the 90's..
I have had it with this f'n cup placements and how f'n hard the putting is on this game! I have never been so frustrated with this putting system and hole placement... a 12 ft 3" downhill putt and about 8" L 2 R miss and roles 20 ft past and off the green.. hit it back the other way and rinse and repeat..
There are no good videos on anything to correct it using XBOx 1 controller on a PC with way more firepower than this game needs. Calibrated and using standard clubs.
I would love to see the replays of these 72 holes of some of these "players".. I am sure the ruler and desk with mouse is being used ...
LOL how people are shooting - 24 on a tourney and i am +20 plus.. 60 shot difference.. I guess i will quit and wait for JN golf

Putting is the best part of the gameplay in TGC - IMO.
Learn to use the putting marker correctly. On downhillers you need to pull it towards the player.

practice practice practice. This isn't a game you can pick up and naturally be good at putting.
If you want to watch how good players do it get on Twitch and watch them. You will see there is nothing fancy going on. Some of the guys will make some visual calculations but you don't see them taking 5 minutes to use a ruler to make ridiculous putts every hole. The best players in this game can score the way they do because most of their putts will be inside 10 ft. because their approach game is excellent.
I'm not by any means a great player (I'm currently in CC-D). I use an xb1 controller on pc just like you. Never had to do any calibrations. I use tour clubs only. When I started on TGC2 (the day is was released) it took me a long time before I could shoot even par. Just kept playing, gotta grind to get better.
Shot -32 this week in CC-D. It's not rare for me to shoot -20 or better in tournaments now. You will gain a feel for it with time.

Yep - even among the absolute elite of the game, their percentage for making putts longer than 10ft is barely above 30%. Nobody has fully mastered it nor will they ever, but the best players, through experience and judgement, can get closer more often than others. Sloaner is the best putter on tour after Jeff Day - the latter never streams so I can't say anything about him, but sloaner usually does a quick front check then a quick check from behind the hole and then slams it in. Watch his rounds on Crab Claw Bay from Rocher a couple of weeks ago, he made tons of 30ft+ putts (some close to 50ft) on extremely difficult greens and all the putts were executed very quickly. Andre (CrazyCanuck) and Doyley (Doylev on twitch) are phenomenal putters as well, and again they always do it very quickly. Awesome to watch. If you're conscientious about taking note when putts take you for surprise, cumulatively learn and constantly adjust in light of the differences between expectations and results, that experience will beef up your putting stats very quickly. And even if you become as good as the top players in the whole world, you're still going to miss nearly 70% of putts longer than 10ft. Which is not a bad replication of real life putting (still way easier than real life of course).

Thanks! Chuck Chuck, These videos are saved on Twitch (instead of youtube) but just for instance Doyley has saved some streams of him playing some World Tour rounds. You can watch how he putts.
