I like the idea of taking like the top 30/40 money earners from each of the PGA/Euro Tours. After this there can be a string of qualifying tournies where the top 5/10 of each tourney get an invite. Of course this formula is better suited for the US Open which is open to any golfer pro/amateur who is a scratch golfer and conform to a 0 handicap.

In the real world it depends on the tournament. For example the PGA Championship you would get an exemption for winning any PGA tourney in the same year. You can also get an exemption, for example in the US Open if you finish top 10 you are auto for the next year. Different majors have different rules.

What about winning a tournament on PGA OR EURO tour does this give you a tee time in a major or do you still have to qualify through money lists etc?
Thanks.

Being that it is a short window before the masters, I would guess a tourney winner on the PGA/Euro would get an invite. The invites for the Web/Champions will pry include some of those winners as well, but maybe not all (if they are a one time flash) I have NO insight, only guessing.
