Hey all, I'm trying to gauge if there is any interest in this. My family does this format in real life for The Masters and it's a blast. I'm thinking of trying it here at some point during the PGA season. Here's how it might work (mind you some tweaking may be needed)
-We play a society event consisting of 2 rounds (scorecard would have to be posted in a thread) -Our rounds have to finish before Friday -Each person that plays, receives a PGA (real life) partner by either assignment, or we by pick (most likely first come first serve) -Our round 1 scorecard pairs up with our partner's Saturday scorecard and our round 2 scorecard pairs with their Sunday scorecard. This goes without saying that a scorecard would have to be posted for me to have the ability to score the tourney hole by hole. -We play best ball with our PGA partner (for example, if you par hole 1, and your partner makes a birdie, your team team takes a birdie) -Best score wins in relation to par
Would spell out the rules more clearly later if there is enough interest. Obviously this field would be capped to the amount of players that make the actual cut PGA tourney that specific week. I would also need some time to create a spreadsheet for this. Just curious folks...could be fun

There was actually a tournament just like this back in TGC1, I believe by titaneddie. We tried to use RCRs for each week but there weren’t enough courses to use. Interesting format nevertheless.

Yeah I tried organizing this nearly identical format and it had lots of interest from people. Unfourtanitley I ran into a bunch of snags and couldn't get it off the ground. Sometimes pars didn't match up, other times they use multiple courses in the first two rounds of tourneys....seemed like there was always something.
Hopefully you have a better luck with it than I did. It really would be a lot of fun.

I do that in our WGT club for all real life majors. Not exactly that way but it's great fun.
I ain't a clue how to copy scorecards from xbox so would not be in it but good luck.

Ya, bubbsboy100. , that's where I used to do it too. Thought I could do it here too, not too sure now. Curious titaneddie , what kind of issues or snags did you run into trying to get liftoff on this tourney? I wouldn't even really try to line up courses really. And holes don't have to line up either. Score only matters in relation to par on any specific hole.

All the problems came in trying to match the courses and par for each hole.

Well...I guess I'll let this sit here a while and see what happens. If we had a field of about 20 or so, it might be ideal. If there is enough interest, I'll move forward. Thanks for the help.

I’m up for it! I would think the hard part will be deciding a fair way to match us with a PGA player, and this must be done prior to sat tee offs.
If you have a set number of players, like 20, maybe you are just assigned a PGA player based on your finishing position the week before.
Example: you finished in 14th place the week before, that would automatically assign you to the player currently in 7th place after Friday’s rounds.
So if you took 20th place last week you get the PGA player in 1st place at the cut.......20 = 1 19 = 2 18 =3 and so on.
The issue would be tied players, but it could go my any leaderboard you pick, and just go straight down the list 20 players deep.
Just a thought to make it clear and easy to look up who your partner will be over the weekend.
If you get it going I’d love to play!!

That pairing method was exactly how I have done it before in a previous video game. Not exactly a scientific method but still makes for a fun tourney.

Hey Curtis.Yes I remember this tournament or a similar one from the other site.It was a lot of fun. If I remember correctly if we had 20 players we would use the pga leaderboard after Friday and go reverse order for pairings ie the 20th place amateur(us) would get the pro listed first on the PGA leaderboard and so on. I would be interested to play.My only concern is I haven't posted a scorecard on here.Does it work the same as far as using imgur or something?(I'm on pc) and when I go to post it here do I use the insert video tab above or something else? PS.How many shots handicap are you giving me for this?

But I’m sure there is a way for Stone Age guys like you with no cell phone to post a scorecard, lol.
