The new patch for TGC on PS4 is now live. Downloaded it about an hour ago.
Putting didn't seem too different on the quick round I just played. The object counter on GNCD is now on the screen and theres a couple of new bridges and a blimp. Havn't scoped everything out yet.
The update was1.5GB

I guess I'll need to get some practice in before I start week 3

I didn't notice much either but I did somehow miss a 1ft putt for birdie at the week 3 tourney. That never happened before. Also missed another 3-4 footer. I usually put the marker past the hole so I don't come up short but I still managed to. Other than that it seemed fine. I will just have to keep a closer eye on it.

I found the putts broke a little less violently off the face, holed a few i may well have missed last week.
Probably all in my head though. Feels pretty much the same other than that.
What else have they tweaked?

I guess I'll need to get some practice in before I start week 3 I think that is a good idea. Just to be on the safe side...

I need some serious practice with this new putting.
For me it feels completely alien. I just played Magnolia National and 3 putted 3 times, I hardly ever 3 putt on this game as my lag putting is usually very good. I felt that the short putts fly off the putter head, so it is easy to miss 3 or 4 footers, before they were routine. I had a few putts of maybe 17 to 20 feet, where normally I would aim the marker a couple of feet beyond the hole (if it's flat)and make a stroke that I feel would go that far. Now when I do that the ball seems to go way past the hole?
The only thing that maybe felt better was the uphill putts, I holed a few of them where normally I would tend to come up short.
So far I am not liking it at all, but is is quite late and I've only played one round, so I am going to try and figure it out tomorrow. Why didn't they make this change before the start of the TGC season, so that everyone could at least get used to it before competing?

They shrunk the aid so on the shorter putts, if you're flying past the hole you're just giving too much power. Take a shorter backswing swing (i know, obvious) but that's the adjustment needed. It's more than likely that your comfortable putting weight was on the high end of the aid prior to patch and now that it's shrunk, you're living beyond where the aid ends. My suggestion to recalibrate is to take the marker out of the equation entirely for a couple practice rounds (push it back 50 or 60 feet) - once you re-dail in distances w/out aid you should have no issues with re-introducing it.

Just played my 3 best rounds ever scoring wise with the new patch, largely due to improved putting. Seems to match much better what I see in my minds eye with the speed/breaks. Of course, I had already played my W03 tournament rounds before it hit, and totally pooped the bed with absolutely horrible putting.

Thank you very much for your advice Doyley. It sounds from various comments that the putting is actually an improvement on what it was before, I am just going to have to practice and get used to it. I can't understand when some people say that they didn't notice any difference when the patch was released? How did you find it when you first tried putting after the update? was it completely alien, or did you only have to make small changes to your normal stroke? Did you blast a few by the hole early on?

Those that did not see a difference in the puttng were lucky enough to have their comfortable putting stroke inside the new range of spyglass effect, I have found the opposite, short putts are fine but uphill and lenghty putts are miles short so much so that i am aiming an extra foot past the he just to get it there. It feels like the power is very sensitve on the ps4 controller, played three or four rounds and seem to have to change the gague on the marker, inside ten feet then aim 2 feet past, outside that then 4 feet past obviously taking gradient into consideration. It's tricky

I played a few rounds tonight, or last night, on the PS4 and putted rather well. For the most part I lagged nicely. I also go by touch, seldom use the marker (short uphill putts being the exception). Feel bad for the PC'ers who basically had the beta patch..

Yeah I missed a couple short ones inside 10 feet. They did narrow the "buffer zone" for the optimal length you set

I had one putt hit the side and kind of circle around (a half circle) and dropped. That hasn't happened before..
