I am guilty of this to. This isnt a knock against the tour, as I think its great, but the game is missing what made tiger fun...playing a round with friends. How often do you actually play a live round with someone and not their ghost? The lack of real time social interaction dulls the enjoyment in playing this. This league helps to fill a small void but in the end you are competing with yourself. It can be fun for awhile but eventually boredom comes. I can see myself personally losing interest in a few months and saying f*** it. Some of us may be humble and congratulate others while not boasting about ourselves but in the end its about what you accomplished and not the shared experiences with people. I play golf in real life to relax with friends but this game is missing that at its absolute core. I wish hb would focus on a lobby and not a career builder. This post will probably get flamed but whatever. Probably the only one that cares.

Must say it doesn't bother me one bit. Don't know why you think you will get flamed as it's a perfectly good post with a valid point and I'm sure there are some that agree! But for me I would rather play in this way on my Todd and compete than with others as most weeks I simply won't have time to wait and watch other people's shots I'd rather play 4 practice rounds before my main 4 and be comfortavke than have to wait for others and cram in my rounds

Would a lobby system really make that much of a difference to the tour here?
Could you not ask some of the friends you have made in the game to convene at a certain time and organise fourball groups to go out on the course (if you get more than four at the same time)
The lobby system would require the people to be live anyway so is it the same effect?
Probably made easier when the clubhouses are organised I would think.

I've always loved that Golf is "me against the course" be it on here or in real life.
The community aspect of things relies on the participants being active on this forum. Which only a small percentage are. I think that's a shame.

I play a few rounds virtualy everyday with people on m friends list.Always have a few rounds with iChaoz xd' the other night i did a fourball with DDawg and two of his mates on ts ,was a great round, played tb and it must have taken over 2hrs but was good fun and a good laugh. The tgc tours is the me time and only 4 rounds a week and fantastic competition which i don't find boring at all.It pushes you to become a better player and gives you the nervy side of competition that you don't get while playing with friends in a more relaxed enviroment.

Don't care about lobbies and never will. As another post said, it's about me and the course. But I understand your viewpoint too.

When it comes down to it, it's about the time. Do I make time to engage socially OR play as video game? I spend most of my work day speaking with clients and so I get the social aspect that way. But unfortunately I'm not able play video games at work. If I choose to play AND socialize I will be spending way too much time at this game. If I have to decide its play alone.
So while I would have room for the odd game over TS it couldn't be more than 3-4 times a month, if that.
But this league provides me with the competitive environment I want and enjoy.

Without this league, TGC would get minimal love and be an odd game of golf when the itch needs scratching. The professional setup here with the website, stats, tournament registration and the work the lads are putting in behind the scenes to make this a realistic and fluid computer simulation is nothing short of BRILLIANT.
Many moons ago I also fretted with HB in regards to Lobby systems, but mostly I lobbied (sic) HB with others to fix their TBMP (turn based multiplayer) - the wind was screwed, scorecards completely inaccurate, ghost balls not ending up where the graphic \ sprite indicated and the dreaded glitch of "have you putted out yet? - cause we are all fking waiting for you" - and they had putt out. And LoL and behold, I haven't played another TBMP since (have they) fixed it. Took too long, need to be online and organised, need patience....
So although a lobby would be good for those that like the ole competitive one vs one that you find in other matchmaking games, its probably alto easier if you simply got a decent list of friends (for PC there are Steam groups), add them, and hit them up if they online for a game. Good luck.

"To the tune by the Byrds - Turn, Turn, Turn"
To everything - golf, golf, golf There is a season - golf, golf, golf And a time to golf every course under heaven
A time to hit Driver, a time to lay up A time to pitch up, a time to rip it A time to Flop in, a time to mess up A time to putt out, a time to curse
To everything - golf, golf, golf There is a season - golf, golf, golf And a time to golf every person under heaven
A time to build courses, a time to play A time to play foursomes, a time for best-ball A time to practice away from others A time to play online together
To everything - golf, golf, golf There is a season - golf, golf, golf And a time to play every tournament under heaven
A time to win, a time to lose A time of miss the cut, a time on top of the board A time you may embrace the noobie A time to refrain from embracing the ego
To everything - golf, golf, golf There is a season - golf, golf, golf And a time to golf every game under heaven
A time for Mario, a time for Links A time for Nicklaus, a time for Woods A time for the Golf Club, a time for Perfect Parallel A time to play new releases, I swear it's not too late!

I never did lobbies before. The old days I'd just go to a friends house and we'd play. Different states now it's just me and the game. Plus I wouldn't have the time to play against someone on line. Rarely do I play 18 holes without having to stop mid-game several times. Kudos to the Byrds, Dawg.

I play live rounds with friends all time don't mind lobby system only problem with it on tw was the quiters when they were getting beat you would always get lost connection, that's why I stopped playing in the lobbies in tw, In tgc if they want to quit they can and you still get to carry on your round, if I want to play someone I just add them to the game via live players, I play on Xbox and have got a few friends requests from tgc players from this tour always good to have new people to play.

Pretty much every time I play (unless tourney related) its with at least one live opponent, often two or three others. Some have lights out skills and others far from it, yet its always relaxed . My scores suffer a bit because we are having a laugh and may be a little less focused but i really enjoy it even if I shoot a terrible round. I also enjoy chasing a ghost score be they friend or not. I stream a bit and have met some great people this way too. Even without the lobby system I feel there is a very social aspect to this game if you desire that. There's many people i've added or vice versa that im yet to play rounds with but hope to in time.
To me, tgctours being about ego in this sense feels a bit negative and inaccurate, maybe some do need league as a validation but i'm sure most when they take a step back are here for the excitement, challenge and comradery a competition presents. If You're just here to be the better than the rest that's ok too.

How do you play against another "live" person? I always play ghosts??? Is there an invite system I am missing?
