Golfer's of TGC2 unite! West Country GC is now published. WCGC is a no nonsense US style championship layout that should sit well with the golf purists in the community. The course design take inspiration from a few well known courses in real life. It has Olympic Club style bunkering, Winged Foot style fairways and routing and Westchester CC looking colour pallette. WCGC plays at just over 7200 yards with a par of 70. The fairways are medium conditioned whilst the greens are very soft and receptive. The greens in general have smooth rolling slopes and breaks, and most are raised up as plateau style greens. The bunkers are extremely tight to the greens and are very deep in many places. The fairways are mostly narrow and there is no semi rough at all! So keep your ball on target line or struggle to make any birdies at all. As always, I design my courses to look and play as realistic as possible. I also design with no aids golf in mind all the way through.
As always, there will be a championship version of this course coming very soon. The championship version turns that course into a brutal but fair test for all players. The greens and fairways will be firm and the greens cut to 185 speeds. The full championship setup will also stretch the yardage to just shy of 7600 yards as a Par 70.
Hope you all enjoy.

Very nice course Joe, enjoyed my round here. Love the subtlety on the terrain sculpting, everything seems flat, but nothing is so.
Give this one a go guys, you'll enjoy it

The subtle sloping is sort of becoming my trademark haha. I like how it looks compared to sharp mounds, and it basically has the same effect.

Really great course, just the type of classic no frills (in a good way) golf course that I enjoy. Very nice bunker sculpting, reminded me of Winged Foot West with the bunker tongues & style of raised in the rear/low in front...... I'm also a really big fan of your raised green complexes, you created some really nice views both on approach shots and from on the greens when putting.
Minor complaint (on the non-championship version at least) was the cam behavior on flyovers, it did that swivel back toward the tee thing and then equips you with non-driver default club on many holes, I assume just a quirk with the multi-tees/waypoints/GNCD....

It's unfortunate about the reverse tee bug, but it's random and unavoidable for now. Glad you approve. I've noticed over the past few months that we share quite a bit in common in preferences to golf courses, and we're in a pretty small minority of designers that actually build these sort of courses. Thanks for playing.

I would agree with Royce here. It does play well with no aids as well. As stated in the TST thread if the greens had mow lines it would help us no grid guys out a little.
