Yes - multi-pinning shared greens is a pain in the arse. I had that problem with my Propellor Island course that has 9 shared greens.

"Impressing the Locals"
"Any other issues?" I asked Eric. "Sir Nick told me you would have done some research on the area, and the power-players that we need to impress." "Yeah – a couple. Sir Nick has a private helicopter pad out the far side of the plot – better not have too many shots hit over that – we don’t want any accidents!! It’s a good job from your point of view that the pad is in the middle of one of the lakes, and doesn’t appear to be close to any planned holes in your design!" "There’s also one environmental issue – some new variety of eagle has recently been discovered near where you have sited the 17th hole. Well I’m told it’s not actually a new variety, just they have re-classified it. Apparently it used to be defined as a fairly common Tour eagle, but some special strain of that breed is now called the Rocher Eagle – very rare, only about 50 in the world, and easily identified apparently by its call – it makes a loud whining noise, much more vociferous than the standard Tour variety. You’ll have to meet the guys from the RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds) – they will fill you in on the details of what you can and can’t do around their nesting sites. What I do know is that they have two ‘hides’ permanently located there for the bird watchers – and you won’t be able to move them at all. Their regional director is a chap named Justin Smedley – I’ve dealt with him before, he’s a good guy, and a bit of a golfer himself. The guys in his office seem to think he spends more time playing Call of Duty and F1 2017 on his PC than actually working though! Their local ‘eagle expert’ is someone called Dale Burger – apparently he is the guy who defines where the Rocher eagles live, and where they are just the Tour version – there’s still some argument as to whether there ever needed to be a split in the species." "Anything else I need to know Eric? Or anyone else in particular – local council etc?" "Well the main guy on the planning committee is a chap called Patrick Lawless. He’s the main professional there – he claims has to deal with a bunch of amateurs on a weekly basis – which is a right challenge! Another one is Brian Jeffords – seems to be one of these guys who isn’t around much and doesn’t say a lot – but when he does, everyone takes note. The final guy that I know of is called David Andrews – he’s the opposite of Brian – a loud northerner from Leeds. I think someone described him as a bull in a china shop – but he took offence to that, saying he was actually a rhino (in reference to his local rugby league team) – a ‘Rhino for life’ apparently – his own words." "The final guy to be aware of is Sir Nick’s neighbour, a Spaniard called Pablo Alonso, who has nice place just behind the 1st and 17th green on your plans. He apparently likes his peace and quiet and has told me he wants no loud crowds on the course – and in his opinion, the best way to keep things quiet if there has to be an event on the course, will be to trick up the greens so no-one can make a birdie putt and get cheers – he called it a strange expression - ‘canucking’ them?" "Oh and we’ve already had a request to play the course when it opens – some hotshot local pro named Larry Malone – he’s making waves in the local events and is now getting some starts on the tour. I’ve kinda already accidentally said yes – he turned up on my doorstep with his young girlfriend, who apparently caddies for him. She was wearing shorts so small and tight that I erm kinda got distracted, and didn’t realise what I was agreeing to – I’m really sorry but here if you take a look at this pic or her, you’ll see what I mean….. Edit: the Pablo quiet strategy part is bloody hilarious as well, and glad you enjoyed my bird's shorts

Yep, is hilarious, but I don't know where rob got that idea about me...... Your reputation preceeds you! And looks like our long suffering designer has allowed the neighbour to influence this pin on the 16th But you've got a nice house though

A couple more screenshots then: Par 5, 14th hole - please don't top the tee shot - could prove expensive! Par 4, 11th hole, overlooking a couple of greens below. Also - the course name will need to change - provisionally now called Muirfield Manor If anyone is interested, I have a beta version out currently - fire me a PM and I will give you the name.

"Ready to Go"
The nerves were now kicking in - just a few more days till the official opening, and today was the day I showed Sir Nick round his new course.
We were sat in his immaculate garden overlooking the 18th green as he asked me to run through the whole course for him.
"Well you didn't make it easy for me - this has never been done before you know - building a championship golf course on a piece of land this small. So obviously a normal layout was never going to fit.
I took some inspiration from St Andrews - with their double greens - playing into large greens from different angles. But even that didn't work with just 2 pins per green - so we had to go for 3 and 4 pins per green. To get these to work, we also had to use each fairway for a couple of holes - travelling in opposite directions - and thus the bunkering had to be designed suitably for both holes. Indeed at one point, we have a crossroads of fairways in the middle of the course! I'm told, for some players, that getting your bearings is confusing at times!
With this in mind we have just five green complexes.....
I call them complexes, as while three of the five are large and house four pins each, the other two are actually split completely into two separate greens - with each green offering a totally different strategic view of the holes concerned - different angles, shapes etc
The shared greens have several 'sections' - so make sure your approaches are precise. While I refused to trick them up in general, there are times when there are sweeping slopes which will take the ball away from your expected target - especially given that they are rated 'fast (172)'.
So while the greens had that St Andrews feel, I wanted to use the natural terrain around here for the course itself - the fairways are therefore tree lined, and to test your driving ability, there is no semi rough - although despite their firmness, the fairways aren't especially narrow and driver is usually a good choice of club. The trees tend to offer a bit of an optical illusion at times - seeming to regularly be in your way - but a well struck, straight tee shot will not often end in trouble.
Many of the tee shots are downhill - and so the course, although 7400 yards off the back tees, plays shorter than that.
There are a few water hazards, and a couple of the greens were cut out in naturally rocky areas - so I strongly advise you to be cautious with your approaches to those greens.
And that, Sir Nick, is your golf course, which, as you know, is called Secret Garden......"
"Sorry Rob - I've changed my mind on that - as you know, I won my first Open Championship at Muirfield in 82, and the estate is named after that anyway - and so I have changed my mind - the new name for the course is Muirfield Manor"
"Fair enough Sir Nick - I therefore present to you:
"The World's Smallest Championship Golf Course - Muirfield Manor"
(About 95% of the course is in this picture - total course area is 550 yards by 500 yards)

Stunning, and so impressive to fit everything in such a tiny space and still make it playable as a challenging but fair course, great work.

This is an incredible fantasy course... agreed that it's so cool that a lot of the same stuff is repeated, butnothing feels the same!
