does anyone else have this happen:
on a long putt (30+ feet), sometimes the putt comes out and rolls on per usual, catching the break, but sometimes it just fires out dead straight for a while, then finally 'checks up' and starts to catch the break.
is maybe a 'fast' downswing on the putt causing it?
anyone else even see this?
THANKS FELLOW GRINDERS

Yup I've seen it occasionally, happened to me a little earlier. think the putt was around 39 ft as I recall with about 8 inches of uphill. Sped off the putter like a rocket and I thought, geez, that's weird, going to fly past but then like you say it checked and finished where I thought it should given the length of my backswing. Xbone btw

Happens pretty much on all my long putts, kinda looks like it gets airborne at the start, or maybe more likely slide, then when it touch down/starts rolling is slows down really quick, even hade it react like it was about to spin back acouple of times before it starts rolling. Tends to lead me to start yelling STOP!,STOP!, stop damnit! and then a sigh of relief when it suddenly slows to a halt Makes for funny questions on Discord afterwards haha Not sure it its just the physics on display och a hidden tempo thing. all my long putts i just smash and hope anyways (Tend to end up halfway to the hole if i dont just smash it)

It's just because it's going faster to start with - in real life with hard putts the ball leaves the ground and bounces to start with (a tiny amount, same phenomenon happens in snooker as well - and when you try to swerve in snooker, the harder you hit it, the later it swerves after initially going straight), so the ball isn't going to follow the break as much until it starts slowing down and rolling. I'm impressed how well they've done this in TGC2 actually.

On the 18th green at Roseland Hills, I had an 89' putt with fringe between me and the flag, am I allowed to use a wedge first to clear the fringe?
thanks john

Getting a lot of seemingly straight puts but putting from the other side shows a clear break... why wouldn't it show from initial point? Even when I check the line to the cup before putting from all angles it just doesn't show.
